Jan Karski is a hero for numerous reasons; he was brave, intelligent, and lived to tell the world. Through his efforts to help stop the war, other nations opened their eyes and became more involved in what was going on. 1. After watching this video I learned that the first generation college students in the late 1960s struggled so much so we could be in this excellent program so we could succeed. Nobody should ever be neglected an education like those students. We have many opportunities as the result of their actions and sacrifices because they fought so that this program could be as successful as it is. If those courageous students would have not spoken up and fight for their rights I would have not been here right now.

Although I am only in high school, I feel as though I have had a vast amount of opportunities that many other students my age have not been able to experience. Over the course of my high school career, I have recieved multiple superior awards for my science fair projects, as well as two ACE awards, which are two prime examples of how I have embodied the scholarship ideal for National Honor Society. As a freshman, Kobi took on the challenge of high school in the way a small child takes on a chocolate bar, very enthusiastically. “I was really really excited to get to know everybody,” Kobi said with a smile. Kobi came to the Casco Bay community knowing only one other person. To some people this may have been daunting, but to a cheerful, buoyant freshman, it drove Kobi’s persistence to become friends with everyone.
