Whether people know it or not, politics play an important role in our lives. As the younger generation is starting to become more politically active than past generations, I think more people are starting to notice. I think a revolution has started in the political world I think in the next few elections we will see a dramatic change in everything related to politics and its going to be incredible. Growing up in the church, I was always aware of what was going on in politics because the adults were always talking about how the government was always trying to attack the church and its rights. The reason for the being is because I was now able to vote. Anytime someone is able to be a part of something they will pay attention to the entire process. Once Donald Trump said he was going to enter the race I started paying attention, whereas Obama’s second election I probably only watched one debate. Another reason why I paid attention more in this election is because I feel it’s my right and my duty to be a part of it. People in other countries don’t have the same right we do and I think we need to take advantage of it and give our voice in elections. What saddens me is that people my age do not always share my views when it comes to voting rights. According to the Huffington Post out of the 64 million eligible young voters in the 2012 election only 26 percent of them voted according to Hanan Esaili (2015). More importantly when you think about it, 74 percent of the young voters didn’t vote but I do believe that the number will get smaller because of the political movements the younger generation likes to be a part of. Being more engaged in the election made me think more about what I think about the political process in general. I think the republican candidates are often business people and try to be personable but over exaggerate in their promises. The democrat candidate and process is rigged and should be more public news than it is right now. They did have one of the most down to earth candidates ever
