Individual Analysis Address ethnic, cultural, gender, and other diversity sensitive issues. Two elements of diversity that I noticed within my group was age and gender. There were four women and one man. Although the female presence dominated the group, our male counterpart held his position. He was very outspoken and his presence provided a sense of balance that was needed. He was a great addition to the group.

The task I completed is providing an overview of the problem (child hunger), I selected the model for fundraising activities, and then I discussed the strategies to address the problems/barriers that another group could experience if they implemented our proposal. I also created our agency’s thank you letter and I selected our coalition members/partnerships. The skills that were used within the group were familiarizing ourselves with relevant research and the latest findings regarding child hunger, and we engaged each other in conversations about culture and ethnicity by using effective communication skills (presented reasons behind our opinions and listened to what others were saying).
Evaluate your use and other members’ use of conflict resolution skills (give examples).
Most of the members in the group used humor to defuse tensions/conflict. When there was a disagreement the members in the group would just take a vote to determine the next plan of action.
Provide examples of your use of other task group skills. I actively supported others when I thought they had an important view, I help set goals for the group such as specific deadlines and suggestions, and I helped the group get on task when we got side tracked (which was often).
