Mentors are the crème da la crème of their respective fields. They advise entrepreneurs on how to succeed during challenges and how to hone their true abilities. All mentors have different styles and attributes that attract people to them. A mentee should have some idea of your goals in order for a mentor to advise you properly. These elite individuals mean different things to different people. A mentor that is accessible, listens, who has proven success in your field, solid connections in their field, expert in their field, down to earth possibly, or comfortable to talk to. Because this is a long term business relationship make sure this person fits your personality and business needs. Because they will be a part of your life until your highest level of success, start mentoring or retirement. (But even the elite 5% top professionals in your industry have mentors, I'm almost certain!) You would not want a retired golf professional to mentor you as a make-up artist.
