Doing further research on a career in the film industry made me realize the job will be difficult. Hard or not I still plan to pursue this career. I previously set three short term goals to help me be successful in following this career path. To further aid me I have come up with 3 long term goals. All six of these goals will benefit me tremendously whether I change my path or not.
My short term goals are mainly geared towards building experience in the film making industry. I plan to do research on the different programs and equipment companies in the film industry use. Not only will I look it up on the internet I will network with people to find out as well. Trying to use the tools, after I have discovered them, will build my experience. I also have to get in touch with people interested in the field to help me build connections. The best way to find people interested in film careers would be visiting the film department of the school. The first goal is to at least six letters of recommendation from leaders in an AV club I may join or other people already involved with film making. To do this I have to an AV club then meet some higher officials certified in film making that know of others in the business. I have to develop a connection with people to network with others. The next step is to find an internship related to film making. I have to do research and branch out farther than just the AV club to get information about different internships. Internships let actual corporations get to know about you and increases your chances of getting a job right out of college. I also have to research other options for jobs in different fields. Being focused on one is good but to make sure I have multiple options I have to find
