I got everything, as quickly as possible, and headed out my house, heading straight to the airport. I remember my mom saying on the car ride to be careful out there, because large events can be dangerous. She also told me to be aware of my surroundings. This statement stayed in the back of my mind, but in reality, I was arriving to Boston, clueless to what the dangers could have been. I cleared my mind, ready to run a marathon, and have fun with the competition.
Like anyone would be we were all nervous and we sat in a lounge for 6 hours, eventually it ended with my dad coming out of the room and explaining everything to us. Apparently TSA thought that we were carrying LSD and cocaine in our
Dr. Lector, Mickey and Mallory have so many differences in their style of killing but they all didn’t deny they were true monsters. The only serial killers so far that we’ve studied wanted to remain what society calls “normal” was Dexter and Mr. Brooks, they wanted to deny or deflect who they are. They both had their normal covers, like they wanted to hide part of them or deflect who they are by giving a reason for why they killed other people. They didn’t enjoy the attention of a kill these two enjoyed the pleasure the kill, offered. The killings, felt like a needed thing to them and not something they wanted to do because it presents itself to them.
It was a hectic day. My friend had to call and have his grandparents pick him up which took about 45 minutes because they lived kind of far away. During that time, my dad told me “pack your bags, we need to go visit your grandmother” I remember that I didn’t pack much because I couldn’t think. My mom immediately booked us plane tickets to Portland. It was super close but we made the flight.
It was getting to the time of takeoff so I saluted the captain and headed toward my seat. I got to my seat and there was a screen where we could watch movies; it was all in English though but they had Portuguese subtitles which helped me. About 10 min into the movie, the plane started to move. I grabbed my mother’s arm and held it tight.
I smiled although I knew we still had to go to the baggage claim. We went to go get our small but heavy bags and everything was running smoothly until the machine stopped working. That meant we had to stay an extra two hours and it was already 11:27 P.M and we had a 45 minute ride to Sandy’s house. At exactly 2:57 A.M we arrived at her house.
Me and my family drove thirty minutes to the airport. We arrived at the airport then we walked to the front of the counter to check-in the baggage and print the boarding pass. Twenty minutes later we board the plane. During the trip I watched movies and eat some snacks. During the flight there was some turbulence.
While we were going through security we saw moms and dads being annoyed by their screaming children. The children were screaming so very loudly it felt like our eardrums were going to burst. Then finally, after a long couple minutes we got through security, with no alarms going off and we were open to go into the magical Walt Disney World!
After we packed up all our stuff my dad said” Everyone go to bed, so we can wake up fresh in the morning and get the trip started”. So, we all went to bed. I can barely sleep thinking about all the fun were going to have. After about 15 minutes everyone was sound asleep and so was I.
My parents texted me and said that they will be back home in three to four hours. I was never that nervous in my life till that day. I was rushing to get in front of the line, but it didn’t work at all, not one person allowed me to get in front of them. The worst part about this is that the man in front of me wore the same size shoe as me, so I
The next day, I woke up to my father banging pots and pans together. Today was the day. Today I was alone going across the world with no one waiting for me on the other side. It was 6:30am and I was trembling, praying the day would stop somehow so I had more time to say goodbye to my family.
I was going to meet my father who was already in Utah for a business trip. I was very stoked about it until I reached the airplane gate with my Mother. I was suddenly overcome with fear, my face turned beet red and my knees locked up. When my gate was called, knowing my mother, she was probably contemplating me not going because I was so scared. But she knew I would be alright and put me on the plane.
It took about an hour for us to get on the next plane ride. Well we were on the plane this one I slept the entire trip I was so tired from waking up at 3 o'clock in the morning. especially with all the excitement it just drains all your energy. It was 4 o'clock in the afternoon when we reach Orlando, Florida. The first couple minutes were a little busy.
I woke up when we reached San Francisco Airport after that short nap, I was energized. We all put the suitcases on the two trolleys and walked to the check-in for first class. I glanced at my brown passport wincing at my 16 years old photo, being 16 was a nightmare! My whole face covered with acne, I had braces, a weird nerdy type of glasses and I was very skinny and short. Thankfully those days were behind, now standing at 5’9 with broad shoulders and toned six -pack.
We went to pick up my sister’s and brother’s friends first, then we drove to my friend’s house. She was waiting outside and there beside her was my other friend who was coming along. I waved hi to them and opened the door so they could get their luggage in. It was already past midnight when we got to Miami.
