Don’t take our word for it - see why 10 million students trust us with their essay needs.
It was the last inning in our all-star game, and we were losing 10 to 8. Our team had 2 outs and we couldn’t get the third. Our pitcher was doing bad, throwing all balls, while all of us in the field were tired, ready to fall asleep at any moment. There goes another walk. They score again.
Mckenna, I too wrote about the mindless monster and the negative effects it can have on someone. It's crazy to think about the lengths people will go to please someone and will overwork themselves to make sure others are happy. I believe that the only way to be truly happy is to make sure you're good first. The other aspect I agree with was your point on body language. That is something I need to work on a lot as well.
Directly after robotics club and procrastination, my favorite pastime is reading. Starting in elementary school I would pick up a book that intrigued me and read it through without ever setting it down. My reading habits got worse(or better depending on how you look at it) once my parents bought me a Kindle and gave me the means to purchase a book whenever I wanted to. Ultimately, my kindle led to some problems at school because I stopped paying attention in class in order to read.
During this class, we read many interesting books that I enjoyed. They all changed my views on life in different ways and made me glad i chose to take this class. The novel that impacted me most was Catcher in the Rye, which was written by J.D. Salinger. I was able to relate to the main character, get attached to the novel, and make connections to the real world today.
Another thing that I enjoyed was creating and voting on the shirt we will make for the end of the year. If I were to take this class over again, something I would do differently would be to involve myself more in the class. I feel as if I would have involved myself more, then I would have understood more. When studying, try to get rid of all distractions. If distractions are present, it takes away the motivation to finish what needs to be done.
I remember finding out that NC State had a summer reading book and thinking that it sounded a lot like a high school English class. I dreaded even picking up the book, so i kept making excuses and putting off reading it. August rolled around, and move-in day was quickly approaching, so I decided to take my dog to the beach one evening and read until the sun went down. The book followed the author's prodigious journey to save one mountain near his house and the Appalachian Trail. With every flip of a page I felt like there was an underlying message that was meant for me.
If I get to pick the book I read, then I do a better job reading it. But if everyone is to read the same book, that is a whole different story. But then there was that rare occasion where I was assigned a book and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Where the Red Fern Grows. My favorite book of all time.
Endermologie therapy So yesterday on my way back home, I was waiting for the 7 train in Queens Borough Plaza. I usually wait for the train by the stairs when I noticed a suitcase surrounded by plastic bags. I looked around to see if it belonged to anyone. To my surprise, people walked passed it like it was nothing.
What was your favorite part of the course? My favorite part of the course is within the first chapters. I found it very interesting how humans came to be, especially how they grew to adapt and survive in the world after climate changes.
Every day we practiced our reading skills with simple picture books. I was very proud because I was in the “advanced” group with one other student. Once I learned to read it became an important part of my life. I remember reading books from Dr. Seuss to Magic Tree House to Junie B. Jones and Harry Potter. My favorite book was definitely Amelia Bedelia as it was an easy read that also provided humor.
Unfortunately, this didn’t magically change my view on literacy or how to go about learning. This 180 was going to start out slow, but it was going to happen. I did what I needed to do in first grade round 2, and did fine in second and third always doing just the bare minimum. In fourth grade though, that’s when things started to change a little more. We became more active in writing this year, something I was starting to get excited in.
It was a sunny afternoon, Rainsford was having a nice family lunch with his two children, Jack and Eva. They were a small town restaurant called No Regrets in a small town off the coast of California. As they were sitting there eating their sandwiches the door opened and in walked Zaroff. He tramped over to the table with Rainsford and his kids. When he got their Rainsford stood up and stepped in front of his kids.
Knowing I needed to good on this assignment I read the book and continued with doing the book report, I was not motivated all at to do it but I did it because I knew I needed to keep my good grades. Once my first book report was assigned, we had more and more to do every week. It changed every week though, one week we got to pick the book and the other weeks, the teacher picked the book. My first book I chose was a baseball book.
With a list of books to choose from we were told to list them in order of interest, but that it did not guarantee we would get to read the number one book on our list. I listed Touching Spirit Bear number one, and luckily, I was chosen to read it along with six other students. Everyday my group would meet in the back of the room during a certain period of the day. Each member of the group would take turns reading.
We took our time as we read aloud and followed along with our finger. After partaking in this reading program I was skilled in reading and was finally sent back to class. I put my reading skills into action any time the teacher needed a volunteer to read from the textbook. Confidence was pouring out of me as I skimmed through the passages. My literary confidence was soon put to the test when writing was put into play.
