This attack had killed many soldiers in Hawaii and many innocent people around the island. These planes had bombarded the Oahu island everywhere causing a riot and a successful assault. Imperialism was a controversial idea that a nation can extend its power outward through means of diplomatic or military force. This often results in a shift of power from one major force currently in control to another. The people of that nation under control conflict may also experience wars, rebellions, or cultural destruction. Looking at some of these events, we see some positives and negatives of imperialistic action taken by the United States, and how it affected the nations imperialized by the United States. For starters, let’s look at Hawaii’s annexation.

Several individuals from different ethnicities, races, and citizenships, compose a society. The United Sates allow us to have a close interaction with numerous individuals from diverse backgrounds. In my own case I have been able to interact with many incredible individuals from all over the world who come from extremely different backgrounds. I am a proud Mexican who cherishes respect towards diversity. Coming from a very suffered country I am able to understand not only what does it means to feel proud to be a Latino, but also I can feel acquainted with the pain and struggle that our community has to face every day.
I plan to give back to Hawaii by doing good work in people’s houses and different buildings. I plan to work really hard and do quality work in Hawai’i, I will spend a lot of time doing the job and getting it done. I plan to give back to Hawai’i or those who has helped me along the way by giving them respect and helping people out with whatever they need help with all the time. Also I plan to give back by showing aloha to everyone around me everyday even when I’m not in a happy mood that way you give what you get. This means for example if you treat someone badly, someone else or that same person will treat you the same way that you treated them.
How would I give back to Hawaii? As a young adult with aspirations to leave the beautiful islands I grew up on and head to the mainland to create a new life there, I will never forget where I came from. Hawaii will always be my home, the place I was born, raised, and paved in to the person I am today. Although my body will be far from here in a few years, my heart will always remain in Hawaii.
According to Dictionary.com, uniqueness means it’s “existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics, or having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable.” Each place is unique in its own way. Some people compare countries alike but really there’s always one thing that distinguishes them from each other. One place on earth that is unique is the state of Hawai’i, from the highest peaks of the mountains to every little grain on the sandy seashores.
My second trip to Hawaii was the first time I fully experience it. My first trip to Hawaii was at the age of seven. The memory of it is cloudy though. Perhaps because it wasn't something memorable, or simply because of my young mind. In a way, the second time to Hawaii was my first.
Since last time I journaled, practicum has been advancing very well. I have obtained a total of 140 hours by the end of this week. I am feeling like I am slightly behind in my hours, only because I took reading week off last week. I was conflicted between taking a week off and going home to visit my family or staying in town and continuing practicum to get some more hours. I ended up deciding to take the week off because I was starting to feel very overwhelmed by the weight of the semester and decided to take the week off as a form of self-care for myself.
Being very fortunate to travel, my wife and I decided to traveo to Hawaii. It was our first trip to that paradisaical place. The experience was fabulous from the very beginning. We flew to the island, and before the plane could land, we were amazed at beautiful blue and clarity of the sea. As we reached towards the beach we were able to see the bottom of the ocean.
