A day in the summer there was a football game played at Kimberly’s turf located in Kimberly Wisconsin. A 7th grade Kimberly football team was playing another great team called the Neenah Rockets they had a massive running back that had this bushy mustache and they had a pretty fast good throwing quarterback. The Neenah rockets had great talent but so did Kimberly. This game was going to be a great one, cold fans crowded the stands eating fresh popcorn and very chocolatey hot chocolate in very white cups as the game started it was 0-0 after the first 4 and a half quarters and in the last minutes something big happens when we are on defense… WORK ON Before the game started we were in warm ups doing frankenstein's, lounges, karaoke, and four’s etc.

Rebels Without a Cause Not very many people have affected me in the same way as my friend Jake Fernholz. I have never realized the influence he has had on me until someone pointed out that we talk and think the same way. I only met Jake two years ago in track, when a pulled hamstring injury caused Mr. Kellerman to have me practice with the long distance kids. Mr. Kellerman forced me into staying on the long distance team and that is where I started to hit it off with Jake. It took me a long time to be comfortable with Jake, but when I did we quickly found our common interests.
Finally the day had arrived when we got all packed and took a one day trip to cedar point. My mom packed some snacks and we hit the road. The whole ride there I was bored and hungry, but I wasn’t going to eat a healthy snack. Which was a bad idea since I get migraines when I don’t eat. “UGHHHH!
Day 2 Immigrant. That word gives me a label here. I am crossing the border to the U.S because my parents think it will give us a new beginning and a better life. I think they’re wrong. Our life in El Salvador was fine: We had a nice house and we were healthy.
The park looks like a long forgotten town in the middle of a busy neighborhood. Trash lines the chain link fencing that surrounds the area. The empty swings sway in the breeze and stagnant tennis balls line the tennis courts. She opens her car door and exits her government issued vehicle. It is hard to believe that just a few days ago they had received the call that little Candra Wade had been abducted at this very park.
New Plans One Saturday morning, I woke up at seven in the morning to go to an amusement park called Six Flags. The plans had been made days ago, my two older sisters, my brother, a friend of ours and I would be going to Six Flags and spend the entire day there. As I got up after finally getting my alarm to finally shut up I walked over to the bathroom to take a shower when I realized that the ground was spinning, in my eyes at least, I had a vile taste in the back of my throat. I quickly fell back onto my bed feeling like if I hadn’t
Maurer & Smith describes geopolitical community as a geographical area or place (2013 ). My personal geopolitical community is a master planned community located in the San Joaquin Hills in the southeastern corner of Orange Country, California. It is geopolitical as it is surrounded by well-defined boundaries for easy identification on a map. In 2016, the city reported a population of almost 66,000. Phenomenological community is a community where members feel a sense of belongingness and membership (Maurer & Smith, 2013).
Liberty Park is a small residential community outside Hinesville city limit. The Liberty park community is in a closer view of 15th West Street. The community has a bigger population of residence consisting of both civilian and military affiliated individuals. I have been a residence of Liberty Park community for the past two years. Despite the beautiful houses that beckon onlookers, my two years have been filled with struggles and challenges.
My grandfather asked me “Which one?” I respond “Let’s get this one”. Little did I know that guinea pig was my dinner. Guinea pigs or cuy are not pets but food in Ecuador. When I arrived at the airport it looked like any typical airport, but it felt as if I was in a different world.
It has been six years since I left Haiti at the age of four. For me it’s been a lifetime at this point. So long that I don’t remember any of the basic rituals of my family. Jet lag knocked me out so badly the night before, I don’t remember what I did after getting off the plane. Bleary eyed and confused
The event that I have chosen is the Freedom Rides, which started May 4, 1961 and ended December 10, 1961. The Freedom Rides were inspired by the Greensboro Sit-ins, and started with 13 African American and Caucasian protestors riding buses into the segregated south to challenge the lack of enforcement to the Supreme Court ruling that segregated buses were unconstitutional. While the activists were peaceful the local law enforcement and people against their message were not. The activists were beaten at several stops along their journey from Anniston to Birmingham with chains, bricks, and bats by Ku Klux Klan (KKK) members in Alabama, and activists that were injured would be refused hospital treatment. My time at Camp Green Lake has made me realize the unjust actions of this place. There are many things that need to be fixed and changed. I want to make sure I can convey what’s going on in camp Green lake. Everyday I’m forced to dig holes, and if I don’t I get punished severely.
