Just When I Thought I Was Finished
I have always said when I finished high school, I would be done with learning. That ended up not being the case. I went to Hagerstown Community College and bounced around from major to major. That lasted for a few years, but I never graduated and gave up on learning once again! I became a mother and found a career in a small medical practice. All my friends around me were also mothers; the only difference was they were graduating with bachelor degrees and moving on to their masters, while I was stuck in one place. Every excuse that I had was shut down by Kaylah. Anytime we would talk, she would bring up school. I have always given the excuse of not having the time or a babysitter to make it to class. My main excuse was always being a single mother, and being comfortable in the position I am now. For those reasons, Kaylah hated when I would say that especially since she was a single mother of two young kids and knew I was capable of much more. Nevertheless, she was determined to talk me into school again and would compare herself and I. If she could do it, so could I and she was correct! Kaylah has me push myself to new limits with everything I do; she is my cheerleader on the sideline of every game! Kaylah is always right there every step of the way, she assisted me with my time management and showed me ways to balance everything out. My best friend brought up the idea of going to an online school so that I would not have to pay extra for a babysitter and also have access to my classes at any time, day or night. Frequently, she calls me and checks in on my progress with my schooling. Kaylah encourages me to further myself in my career and always reminds me that all is possible if I try and stick to it.
