Never would they have imagined going to school let alone attending college but because of them I was able to attend school, graduate high school, and attend college. Because of them I had the amazing opportunity to be born in one of the greatest countries in the world and study to become anything or anyone I wanted to be. Because of them and with the help of the Clark Construction Field Scholarship I am able to pursue a degree in Special Elementary education with a minor in Human services and speech pathology and audiology. Without being awarded the scholarship for the past two years my parents and I wouldn’t be able to afford tuition and I wouldn 't be able to pursue a degree. I am not sure what the future may hold for me
Upon arriving to Miami Dade College, you will never imagine all the resources offered to students to succeed during their scholastic years. I’ve been lucky enough to been advised by some of the best staff at their Interamerican campus. From their advisement office to their profoundly knowledgeable professors. As a current student of ENC1102, we were required to attend one section with a tutor at the writing center. I always thought I had sufficient knowledge of the English language and taking time out of my busy schedule to attend a section with a tutor was absurd.
Hi Maria, Things are going well. Tulane is much different (smaller) than NC State, but so far so good. Of course the first two weeks and the holiday coming make things crazy but I made the right decision. I am still waiting to move into my apartment, but I will be settled once I do. I am thrilled that Lucas is doing well!
My grandfather, mother, and entire family were raised in Bellingham, Washington as was I. I can’t imagine going to any other school than Western Washington University. This past year has been a whirlwind. I had to decide which schools to apply to, take many tests, finish up a senior project, found a new passion, and lost someone close to me. I now realize that the only school I want to go to is Western. A few weeks ago I went to tour a few colleges in Eastern Washington.
When I was was younger, I was a caterpillar crawling around trying to get through life, waiting to turn into the beautiful butterfly I know I could soon become. I made good decisions along with bad ones, saw the beauty in life as well as the unpleasant. I was like everyone else trying to be their own person, but now as I look at myself in the mirror I can finally see who I really am. I see myself as the beautiful butterfly I once dreamed of becoming, ready to fly down my own path. I have been in my chrysalis and I am finally out and ready to fly into my bright future.
I first started thinking about college seriously two years ago. Last year was when I first heard about your college, Dallas Baptist University. It sounded too good to be true. A college close to my home, I could drive home every other weekend. You have good programs and degrees based off of my career interests.
Helping out my mother with the bills, working full time and commuting to college, seemed like the destined plan for me after high school. Nonetheless, it came as a shock to everyone when I confessed, I had accepted my admission to Texas A&M. My family took it the worst at first, as it seemed if I wanted to run away from the responsibilities that had suffocated me up to the minute I pressed
I decided to apply to Loyola because I believe that it will offer me the best education, athletics, and overall high school experience. My father and uncles attended Loyola, and all four received excellent educations while making life long friends. Through attending summer school, football games, and open houses, I am confident that Loyola is the best fit for me.
So over the summer I got to visit two schools, the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins university. So when I went to the University of Maryland I felt like I liked it more than John 's Hopkins. At the University of Maryland, they have the School of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social worker law and dentistry. So I visit the school medicine and also got to see their campus and their hospital. During the tour, I also got to visit the trauma center and even went up to see their helicopter.
Tabor College is a four-year private Christian college in Hillsboro, Kansas. Tabor College is owned and operated by the Mennonite Brethren Church and follows the confession of faith of that church. Tabor College opened in 1908 of the Mennonite Brethren and Krimmer Mennonite Brethren faiths. Coming to Tabor College in August of 2015 have really opened up my eyes seeing so many people care for one another because in Dallas there is a lot of people and not many people care for another like the Tabor staff. Tabor College has made me a stronger believer in Christ and changed my lifestyle.
I can contribute my hard work to the Honors College community. I think that I am hardworking and I love to work with others to help solve problems because two heads are always better than one. I would contribute my ideas to the lessons and help others when they need it. I love to be able to work with other people outside my comfort zone and be able to hear their ideas and combine ideas to come up with something that will benefit everyone in the community.
Approaching Prairie View A&M University was very exciting for me because my high school mentor, Ms. Hill-Jones, graduated from PVAMU and shared amazing stories with me about the students and staff. Hearing such great stories about the school my expectations were high, so once I arrived to the school and got situated I expected to be greeted by the staff but what I received was a nice to meet you and goodbye. My disappointment level started to rise then after that I began to walk to the café or msc as they call it ; when I entered I was greeted by this kind old woman, “How you doing young man?” she said really sluggish. I replied with a simple fine then happen to tell the lady my entire situation then she respond enthusiastically, “Honey, You’ve been here for less than a day give it time baby.”
As a first time student attending Spokane Falls Community College, I honestly thought the only buildings and areas of campus involving my class schedule would be of importance. Little did I know that one room encountered would become my safe haven. I remember the first day stepping out onto the campus and seeing only a giant riddle waiting to be solved. Bountiful parking spaces, buildings, rooms, classes, and students bombarded me. Just after my first class, my mind overflew with information.
In addition to High School, my unfolding college career and eventual occupation are influenced by my parents examples. I’m striving to be a psychology major in college, this goal is becoming closer and more possible day by day. Due to the leading skills I possess, I am working toward credit hours to achieve the goal of a psychology major. I have undeniable confidence that I can become a psychologist because of the examples of leadership my parents
My parents support me for my college dreams. College and family tie together.
