Feeding, watching, and playing with children has been my main concerns on weekends. Along with responsibility, I have learned to be patient. I learn that it is most important to focus on children when in the classroom. I relax in my work by clean up in this class. Always be available to support children and maintain an overview of what is happening throughout the program. I’m aware that I can’t leave children unsupervised and can be somewhere that have one of the teacher staff can supervise me and the group. I show initiative to assist the teacher and children during activities or transitions.
Before leaving biology lab on December 6, I had the honor of interviewing the graduate assistant-teaching for biology 211 lab. During the interview I learned a lot of things about the teaching assistant like her background information and education. Her name is Lauren L and she is a graduate student at Iowa State University. Lauren has worked at Iowa State University for five semesters as a teaching assistant for biology 211 lab. She chose the teaching profession because she truly wants to teach and get some experience teaching undergraduates.
Last year there was an opportunity for me to become an unqualified teacher in nursery. Whilst the experience has been exhausting and sometimes frustrating it has also been invigorating, inspiring and lots of fun and I would not have missed it for the world. I do not mind the late nights or spending part of the summer holiday getting nursery ready for September. Being accountable and sharing the responsibility with another teacher for reports, planning, Tapestry journals and data to me seems like the small price you pay for the privilege of being able to guide the children towards their future. One of the main theories in Developmental psychology is the attachment theory that was devised by Bowlby (1969) and was added to in 1973, by Mary Ainsworth. The attachment theory surrounds the bond between a primary care giver and a baby. They believe that attachment is a deep and enduring emotional bond that connects one person to another across time and space. In 1930 Bowlby worked as a psychiatrist in a children’s unit, where he treated many emotionally disturbed children, this lead him to consider the relationship between mother and child and the impact that could have on the child’s development. Bowlby believed that the attachment process was an all or nothing process and that you either were attached or were not attached.

I was taken away from my parents when I was only twenty two months old. I was molested, neglected, and abused. No child should ever have to go through what I went through.
I don’t think that Alexander was a great king. He did far too much bad. He has killed thousands of people. Burned their temples, and treated people very badly. He went to conquer many place and took over when they didn’t want him there at all.
Throughout my life, 4-H has made an impact by shaping me into the person I am today and leading me on the path to become who I want to be. I have been given many opportunities to broaden my horizons, develop critical life skills, and make experiences that will always be with me. I was raised in the small town of Milan, Michigan. As I grew older, I heard so many stories about my father’s experience in 4-H. I wanted to have the same opportunities to experience what he did through 4-H. At the age of 6, in late 2004, I took part in my first 4-H project, the Protégé horse program in Washtenaw County where I was able to borrow my mentor’s horse for show. This group allowed me to expand as a person.
Work with children Throughout my high school and college years, I have had several experiences with children that have all played a part in shaping my love for working with children. During high school, I spent two summers nannying for two young school aged children. Working with these siblings really made me realize how much fun I have working with children and watching them grow. Once I came to college, I started another babysitting job working with two four year old twin girls.
July 30th, 2015, i was in the hospital anticipating what i 've been wanting to see all summer. My sister was 9 months and 10 days pregnant. Watching every ultrasound, and seeing every kick. I stayed with rachel all summer to make sure the baby was healthy and she was off her feet. Handling all the cooking and cleaning and entertainment with the two Six year old rascals running about.
This year I tutored middle school students. I contributed by always managing to make it whenever I didn’t work and by helping students do their best. My goals last semester was for us to communicate better, we had trouble communicating with the teacher. As a group we didn’t really feel acquainted to her and it was hard for us to communicate.
