Personal Narrative: My Experience With Mentor

Today is my third meet with mentor. The main goal was to do the checklist from confirmation. Getting done with the checklist will allow me to go forward to takes pictures with clients. I was really excited to meet with my mentor Dr. Martinson to go over the checklists. At first, she went over about the three main exposures, which is the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. We went details in each of the main exposures about what they can do and how they affect each other. For each of the terms, my mentor took her time to teach me and explain to me. Since I have already studied this terms, but going over with my mentor also helped me to learn from her perspective and knowledge. I would say it was a great review for me. She suggests that everytime I take a picture, I need to think of these techniques will help my pictures to be more interesting. She explained to me when take a picture, thinking about what are you trying to tell or say to the audience when take a shot. Whatever the objects it is, the goal is to express the meaningness of a picture. Her explanations about composition really inspired me to be a better photographer. It allowed me to think and be more creative for taking pet pictures. She also taught me about focusing on a objects does not always have to make the object being in the middle. She explained how the focus of an objects in the middle can sometimes be boring or uninteresting. Instead, if you put the object on one of the sides will give the dynamic of the picture which that will make a picture to be interesting. Also it will allow to the picture to explain or express what is trying to tell to audience when the background is visible or displayed. The background also is important because it can tell what actions or things that is happening through a picture. I really enjoyed today’s lecturing, because it was something new and learned a lot from
