Upon arriving to Miami Dade College, you will never imagine all the resources offered to students to succeed during their scholastic years. I’ve been lucky enough to been advised by some of the best staff at their Interamerican campus. From their advisement office to their profoundly knowledgeable professors. As a current student of ENC1102, we were required to attend one section with a tutor at the writing center. I always thought I had sufficient knowledge of the English language and taking time out of my busy schedule to attend a section with a tutor was absurd.
My grandfather, mother, and entire family were raised in Bellingham, Washington as was I. I can’t imagine going to any other school than Western Washington University. This past year has been a whirlwind. I had to decide which schools to apply to, take many tests, finish up a senior project, found a new passion, and lost someone close to me. I now realize that the only school I want to go to is Western. A few weeks ago I went to tour a few colleges in Eastern Washington.
I am first generation college student. I started Florida Gulf Coast University four years after I migrated from Jamaica along with my Dad, in pursuits of “an opportunity”- something that is very scarce outside of the continental United States. Before coming to FGCU, I went to Miramar High School; I graduated with honors and promised my Dad that within four years I would bring home my bachelors degree in Finance. August 14th, 2013 marked move in day at Florida Gulf Coast University. My first few weeks at Florida Gulf Coast University introduced me to the dreariest days and nights of my life.
Gabby Dutsar is in her 4th year of the physicians assistant program at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. She will be in her graduate year of the physicians assistant program next year. She is an alum of Conard High School and has taken the previous form of our Emergency Medical Services class known as Allied Health. The information Gabby provided reinforced my confidence that I want to be a physicians assistant.
Artisan is focused on making an all the more simply, free and prosperous world. Situated in a standout amongst the most critical political, financial and scholarly center points on the planet, we acknowledge our obligation to serve others: to help our understudies succeed, enhance the life of our group, and add to explaining probably the most complex worldwide issues of our time. George Mason, for whom our college is named, was one of the best of the establishing fathers of the United States. Bricklayer drafted the Virginia Declaration of Rights, which turned into a model for the initial 10 revisions to the U.S. Constitution, known as the Bill of Rights. Science and Technology
It was the first day of college at Pig State University. For the 3 pig brothers: Steven, Bill, and Charlie, it seemed like college was going to come easily to them. They had always gotten straight A 's and were the star athletes of the football team. Pig State University gave them all full scholarships, so naturally they chose to go there. Don 't be fooled by the name though, many other animals also go there.
With all the six years I’ve been at GCU I never had a counselor who never told me they couldn’t help. On top of the lack of assistance from her she really didn’t give me good advice. She wanted me to drop my new class and owe. I told her that was not what I was wanting to do but for her to assist me with informing my instructor,so that they all know what I was going through at the moment.
During the past seven weeks, I learned to construct the problem statement, purpose statement, research question, theoretical framework, nature of study, and significance of study. I noticed that the theoretical framework and significance of study are two of my weaknesses in the doctoral study. I am having difficulty understanding the requirements of the components. To improve my weaknesses, I plan to ask colleagues and my chair for feedback and read previous doctoral studies. After receiving feedback from the components, I plan improve in each draft.
For the past two years, I have been inundated with letters from colleges, which were excessive to the point of forcing me to throw away unopened, unread letters because I was too overwhelmed with the enormity of the decision that lay before me. But Oberlin has somehow mastered the art of informing without smothering. I was sent postcards about Oberlin that told me about life at Oberlin, and showed me the soul of the school. I felt that Oberlin genuinely “wished I was there”, and I began to wish I was there, too. So when I started seriously researching my options I realized that Oberlin College had a vibrant, diverse history department, a dynamic English department, and offered a concentration in education.
The vision of George Washington University Hospital is, “Together, we will pursue our passion for healing, discovering medical breakthroughs and improving lives [..]”. Just like the vision of the hospital I am very dedicated and driven to pursue my passion for healing and to improve the lives of others not only in any way possible, but also through a future career in medicine. This experience will be filled with growth for me to be the best that I can be to of service to
Tabor College is a four-year private Christian college in Hillsboro, Kansas. Tabor College is owned and operated by the Mennonite Brethren Church and follows the confession of faith of that church. Tabor College opened in 1908 of the Mennonite Brethren and Krimmer Mennonite Brethren faiths. Coming to Tabor College in August of 2015 have really opened up my eyes seeing so many people care for one another because in Dallas there is a lot of people and not many people care for another like the Tabor staff. Tabor College has made me a stronger believer in Christ and changed my lifestyle.
My first year at Smith College was a whirlwind; I was elected as the freshman class president, rowed in the first boat on the novice crew team, and maneuvered the social and academic changes every freshman undergoes. I learned a lot about myself, such as what environment I succeed in. Most importantly, I learned that although I can excel, I do not thrive in an environment that highlights intense academic rigor. Rather, I envision myself thriving academically and socially advancing at a university that encompasses academics, social life, athletics, and has a large and diverse student body that resides both on and off campus. I attended a very small high school, and I thought I would find comfort in attending a small liberal arts college.
Sometimes people are born where they are not wanted. For these children life just always seems to be a big wait, waiting to turn eighteen, waiting to finish high school, and while you wait for life to throw you a bone a feeling of uncertainty starts to creep up on you. Waking up everyday to do the same thing and you get so tired you don 't want to wake up anymore. This is how every day start and ends for me. Some activities, like jogging or reading, can ebb this feeling to a degree where it seems bearable; but it wasn 't until I filled out Boston Universities college application that I felt something new, this feeling I identify with hope.
Becoming an Anesthesia Assistant would allow me to work as a healthcare professional, help people in their time of need, and have an increasingly dynamic career. I know that my attention to detail, creativity, and critical thinking capacity developed over years working in the medical field make me an ideal candidate for the Master’s of Medical Science in Anesthesiologist Assistant program at Emory University. As my life progresses, I have created a desire for a profession that offers a varied assortment of opportunities. I find it gratifying to have a career that is not only rewarding for caring for surgical patients, but also the attraction of a career that is a life long learning process. The attractiveness of a career with different possibilities and education expansion is energizing and motivational.
Growing up in the small town of Clarksville, TN my whole life, I never had to be the new girl at school. I went to high school with the same kids I went to pre-k with, up until my junior year. One afternoon, I heard about a new opportunity for me- Middle College at Austin Peay State University. Getting into Middle College was no easy task, but I took the chance.
