Personal Narrative: My First Vietnam War

I was sitting on the porch talking with my great grand-kids, when Charlie asked me how I lost my leg. So I thought about those dreadful days in 1934. I was the general of the fiercest military in army ant history. We ranged about two miles wide and ten miles in depth devouring any and everything in our paths. One night, I sent one of our privates out to search for food. He came back with an astonished look on his face, "There is a plantation ahead!" he said enthusiastically. The next morning I gave the signal and we took off. About halfway there we encountered a very large Pampas Stag and ate it to the bone within six minutes. After our delicious meal, we stumbled upon a river blocking us from our destination. I looked at Sergeant Wilson, gave him the nod, and our soldiers jumped in by the hundreds. Soon, the bodies of our fallen brothers started making a bridge for other soldiers to cross. Just as we were making it across, the water seemed to drain out of the river. I looked over my shoulder and saw a huge tsunami making its way towards us. We carried the leaves and dropped them into the river in which we climbed onto the boat shaped leaves and rode the current to the end of the river piling them up and made our way across.
