When we think of heroes first ones to come to mind are fictional characters; Superman, Batman, Spider-Man. These characters are great and their producers have made a lot of money off of them, but true heroes impact lives and put others before themselves. They are willing to sacrifice their social life, family time, and even money to make a positive impact on your life and influence you to strive for excellence and reach your desired goal. These are all things my hero, Marquita Adley has done for me. Marquita Adley, nicknamed Coach Q, has been my basketball coach since 6th grade.
Heroism Who is your hero? It may be your dad or, perhaps another family member, one that you have known your whole life as a hero. Maybe it is a fictional character. A person that you don't know or have never seen, but still you think of them as a hero.

Antigone is a young woman in the play Antigone by Sophocles, Antigone is considered a hero by many for giving up her life for her brother and going against the law in 44 B.C. While Terry Malloy is considered a hero in the movie On the Waterfront for also going against rules. Malloy would be considered a rough kid who got into a bad situation with a group of mugs while working on the dock, not only does he save the day for himself but for others that are working on the docks as well. Antigone and Terry both go against rules for what they believe is right and become heroes.

She was in a program called English Language Development (ELD) a systematic program to develop a solid English language foundation ( students who speak English as a second language). Everyone is a hero at some point in there life. A hero is kind and helps others with their actions and words. Pony, Dallas, and Johnny are heroes in the book The Outsiders. Heros today are very hard to find. From the power of the internet, to the desire for wealth and fame, and don’t forget all the tragic disasters that have been happening all over the world. Nobody seems to be standing up to it, we’ve all seem to ignore it and hope it will soon stop. Except for the pop star, Ariana Grande. And she has shown many good characteristics to prove so.
To me, a hero is someone who gives everything they have to assure the happiness of others and a hero is also someone who gives up his life or her life so someone else could live.
