When I was younger, I’ve always wanted to swim in the Olympics and be as good as Michael Phelps. But like many others swimmers, these dreams didn’t come true and it forced me to look into realistic goals. I want to become a Pediatrician but I know that is a very competitive field of work to get into so I need to have a backup plan. I do not have a desire to become a teacher nor author, but I do enjoy talking about sports so I am little interested in sports journalism. I couldn’t interview sports journalist, but I decided to interview one of the swimmers here on UTPB who wants to become one. My interview took place here on the UTPB campus. I decided that I didn’t want to interview a teacher, but instead a student. This student’s name was Darrin Dziergowski and he currently swims on the UTPB swim team. He is a Business major, with a minor in journalism because he wants to become a sports journalists. His love for sports and making money has him dreaming about working as a sports journalists for ESPN. This interview could help me decide if sports journalism is right for me. I have to agree with Darrin here because when I was reading one of his sports piece, he convinced me to abandon my favorite team and to root for his favorite team. My favorite football Team is the Green Bay Packers, but after a news breaking injury to the starting quarterback, Darrin wrote an article on how the team now sucks and won’t any games now. He then wrote in his article to cheer for the Dallas Cowboys because they are America’s team, they have the best player in football named Ezekiel Elliott, and that have a cool name (Cowboys).
