I walked into my house the door wide open and a damn sword stuck the ceiling; I could see the back yard with a crapload of holes in it again. This is the last time I am going to let my roommate bring his crazy gofer friends over again. The last party they had the gofers brought over some woodchuck prostitutes and they chewed off all my legs to the table, who know what they did with them. This GSCA group gets way out of hand. That is Gofers Society for Creative Anachronism.
“It was dusk when I got my first glimpse of it off in the distance, beyond a ridge. All I could see were the spires and blocky tops of buildings... My heart started to race, and my palms grew damp.” Walls, Jeannette. The Glass Castle: A Memoir.
Meet my Jazz band. This is a picture of us in New Orleans my junior year during spring break to play Jazz. I decided upon this picture because this band has had such a profound impact on how I frame my future. My connection with music through the piano has been fostered ever since I could reach those shiny black and white collection of keys. Starting at the age of four, playing the classical music of Mozart and Bach was what my musical background was founded upon, with tangible medals and accomplishments as achievements.
A huge set piece came crashing down right in the middle of the performance. The whole audience gasped! I thought my mother was going to lose it completely. Luckily no one was hurt and the show was able to continue.
You can’t imagine how much I’d miss you and how much Id desire to be home with you right now. I really hope and you are doing well in London. Life has not be any easy since I got here. I traveled with other 103 men and boys in three ships, the Susan, the Godspeed and the Discovery. Sadly on of the men died on our way to the new World.
There have been numerous amounts of important events throughout American history, from settlements to famous wars, many of them are worth traveling back in time and viewing in person for. If I were given an opportunity to time travel and witness one of these events in person, I would choose to visit the origins of the new world, in Jamestown, Virginia. It began on May 14, 1607, when roughly 100 men who had left England landed on a narrow peninsula in the James River, where they would live out their lives in Jamestown. The settlement had a variety of attractions which pulls me into wanting to time travel to see it, one including watching the settlements first leader, Captain John Smith in action. Another thing that catches my attention is the way that Jamestown was built and its location.
Out of the three activities I participate in at Anson High School, the National Art Honor Society would be one that has impacted me the most. When I was first put into the art class my sophomore year, I tried my hardest to drop the course. The reason being is because I knew for a fact I would not be able to fully enjoy the course with my lack of artistic skills. After being in the class for a month and completing my first art assignment, I realized how much talent I actually do possess. A passion for art was quickly created over the course of time.
Since I was so bored anything would appease me. I came upon my sister who was rummaging around under the covers. I, of course, did not think twice, and impulsively jumped right in. After a minute she jumped off, and I didn't realize. While under the covers I dropped off the bed not knowing, and landed right on my left arm, breaking it.
Justin, Ramon, Victoria, one after another. They all are presenting their exit project on one of the special movement in American History. Three more people and it was my turn. It was hot summer that and I believe that the air conditioner in the room wasn’t working, but who needs an air conditioner anyway?
Last night I went to Nathan Philips Square at City Hall in Toronto. It were a beautiful summer evening. It was warm and sunny. Lost of people were there because of the Pan Am games celebrations. I stood and watched the crowd.
My artifact is a fox pinch pot. It was handmade by me. Choosing colors, it ended up orange and black. My pinch pot is important because it was something I made. Every pinch made, took valuable time and endless effort.
When I was 4 I knocked out my two front teeth. I was chasing my imaginary brother around a chair. You know the only child usal. So I was sliding off the arm of the greenish gray chair in my living room
With all the difference in opinion me and my dad share when it comes to our beliefs, one thing he said to me have never left me. I remember when I was sixteen years old me and my dad had a discussion on the idea of race and how it affect the lives of minorities in this country and around the world. I am sure this is a conversation most black parents have with their children I least once a day in one form or another. But during our discussion he told me that I was going to have a hard time in life. Because I don’t conform to society norm, I view the world in a critical or analytical lens.
My First Time in Disney World Every child wants to go to the happiest place on earth, Disney World, and for my fifth birthday, I was one of the lucky children who was granted their wish. I remember my time in Disney like it was yesterday, yet it was day two of my trip that stood out the most. We rode the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. I thought the monorail must be what a rollercoaster feels like, even though we were going as slow as a snail.
When I was only a couple of months old my mom and I were stuck in an airport due to delayed flights. The only luggage we had was my diaper bag and a backpack full of baby toys. I was miserable and cranky the whole entire time which didn’t make my mom feel better. At the time I had no idea what was going on but now that will be stamped in my memories forever.
