For all of the summer simulations, I was able to come on time and maintain a professional behavior with my peers and patient. For communication, I find myself being confident and relaxed compared to how I felt at the beginning of the summer simulation. For example, during subacute, my partner and I was able to provide patient education on the BIPAP machine to a patient actor and during the simulation, I never felt uncomfortable or nervous while delivering the education. For this week I would give myself a score of 4.
Thanksgiving Break The main thing I did over my thanksgiving break was hunting. It was Bob Carter, Andy Carter, Wayne Woulsy, Willy Carter, and I. We started duck hunting on Wednesday on the 23rd of November. Are first hunt we saw a bunch of mallard ducks light on a pool east of are blind. We killed 1 wood duck and 1 wigeon duck.
I had a pretty relaxed Thanksgiving Break. On Saturday and Sunday all of my friends were either busy or away so I did not have anything have anything to do. I just watched T.V. and chilled out both days. Except on Saturday night the Coronado High School boys were playing their most important game of the year, so my family and went and cheered them on. Then, on Monday and Tuesday I was really busy with water polo.
Unfortunately, my lackluster performance my first-year results in Florida State University’s adjusted overall GPA of 2.883, just shy of your desired 3.0. I expect that 2.883 will be bumped yet higher after I complete my inaugural semester at FSU; at midterms I currently have 4 A’s and 2 B’s. This semester I have focused on taking many Sociology courses and an Environmental Science Lab which provide much insight into society and engaging with people on local levels and how to complete a line transect (even if it is virtual), skills that are crucial to success of the projects at the NSF REU site. Next semester I am taking a heavy course load in Geography including GEO 4210 (Landforms and Landscapes), GEO 4300 (Biogeography), GIS 2040 (Essentials of GIS), and SYA 4300 (Methods of Sociological Research), with the experience at the NSF REU site as a
And must I still point out that I still have the ceiling to achieve a 3.0cumulative GPA when I graduate, with a average of 3.6 per semester. I will also like to get the chance to address what happen during the summer. It was a honest mistake, I had all my work turned in. Until the last ten days of the class. I was in a difficult time in my life, with a death of a longtime friend at the time.
Who had an amazing spring break? I know I did. It's probably the best one out of all my spring breaks. I went many places with my family and friends. Some places were very interesting and one place I loved the most but HURT ALOT!!
Over Spring Break, I plan on not doing much. I am going to sleep in most days until at least noon, finish many seasons of some of the shows I am watching, stay in bed, and eat everything in the house. I am hoping to finish The Office (U.S.) and get to episode 200 of Fairy Tail. I am going to try to take advantage of my days off and maybe finish a few of my books. I hope it will be warm enough, and I to be motivated enough, to go to the beach.
My spring break was fun and relaxing. First, on Sunday, I went to The Block to meet up with one of my friends that goes to a different school. As a result, we were able to catch up on things and go shopping. On Monday, my sisters and I went to the hair salon to get a haircut. That following day, my dad, sisters, and I went to the mall to have lunch and go shopping.
I write this addendum to elaborate on the discrepancy on my transcript and to present my claim that my grades from freshman year do not accurately depict me as the student I am. There were circumstances, both in and out of my control, that negatively impacted me during my freshman year which prevented me from achieving my absolute potential. I’ll begin with the most excruciating circumstance. I went to Purdue University as an out-of-state student with minimal financial aid and scholarship money. Attending college nowadays is expensive, notably as an out-of-state student.
As my senior year in High School is nearing its end, I still have a few important goals to accomplish. I want to get fives on my three AP tests (Calculus BC, Chemistry, and Physics C), so I can go into college with some credit for my intended major chemical engineering. I also want to learn as much as I can in these last couple months to better myself for the future. My final academic goal is to finish the year off with all A’s. I want to finish my senior year as strong as my past years.
As a college freshmen, there is no doubt that I still have a long ways to go in order to achieve my academic goals. And through this journey, I know that I will encounter highs and lows just as I experienced in the past, most notability in high school. I keenly remember instances around this time where I doubted my abilities when subjects like math was proving to be difficult, even when I was trying to put in effort to stay on track. I was struggling in math because I did not try to identify my weaknesses, and never tried to come up with solutions to fix my problems. Rather, I chose to give up on math and settle with a grade barely passing.
Fall is my favorite season out of the other three sensational seasons in Minnesota. I love fall because it happens to be my favorite season of the year. No, not volleyball or football season, but deer hunting. I have had good years hunting, and I have had bad years hunting, but my favorite year was my second year hunting. November 8th, 2014.
What I have done mostly the last two summers is work, hang out with my friends and family, and participate in band camp. My friends and I like watching movies and going on little trips together to buy books. I was scheduled to work a lot during the summer because I was a good worker and during the summer was when I could work the most. I had had my job at Big Apple Bagels for three year and was a barista and cashier. As for band camp, it is something I would participate in every summer before school.
Sitting so far back in math class trembling from the fear my name would be called to solve mathematical problems I never knew even existed. Restrooms became the hangout spot to avoid doing any actual class work, not knowing all this would turn back to bite me. I didn’t have a chance at high school math, struggling to manage a passing grade I had to stay for after-school tutoring in order to graduate. Class of 2012, at last, I made it through high school, off to the military wear my math skills depreciated even more over time. A mindset on enrolling in college and pursuing a degree which requires a lot of math courses I knew it would be a
Math has never been my strong suite. I often times gave up. My grades in math were always just enough to move on, but nothing better. The beginning of my junior year I was signed up to take Intermediate Algebra with Mr. Kimberly. From day one, I knew I would have to work hard to keep up in class.
