Honestly, I feel that our class culture is being dominated by a few loud people, who do not seem to be interested in being present in class. No, I am not talking about my classmates who are always involved in the class discussions – that’s actually a good thing. I am talking about the people who are always having side conversations and the others who quite frankly are just being rude. I feel bad for the people who are actually trying to get an education, but are being rushed with both vocal and body language cues from certain people.

Before I started school I did nothing but work, sleep and hang with my friends. I had time to go where I wanted and do more that I wanted. I also got a lot more sleep. I pretty much had that “get up and go whenever” type of life outside of work. But once school started, that all came to a screeching halt.

You know that when someone’s phone goes off, they have to take the walk of shame up to the teacher and hand over the device. But how did your phone even make noise? You’re sure that you turned it off at lunch, but did you?
Showing up to school 20 minutes late with bags under my eyes and coffee in-hand, I offered a superficial apology and explained to my teacher that I “slept through my alarm again”. I refused to tell him the real reason I was late. Yet every part of me wanted him to understand that I went to school for seven hours the previous day, worked for six hours that same night, and stayed up hours before the sun was to rise again finishing homework. Then I woke up early the following morning to wake up my mother and ensure she got to her job on time. Being the oldest sibling at home, I took it upon myself to make sure my mom didn’t lose her job-again.
My struggles started in elementary school, so much so that my parents took me to have some testing done to try to find some answers. In between fifth and sixth grade I had a neuropsychological evaluation done and the results were not optimistic. The doctor informed me and my parents that I read well below my peers and that I would always struggle to keep up with them especially in high school. My parents took a wait and see approach. I went into sixth grade with an “I 'll show this doctor” attitude!
Our educational system is failing us. The United States of America is supposed to be the “greatest” country in the world but statistics are showing that our government/educational system is failing us; children/young adults of the nation. Being a student of a middle ranked school in Arizona, I personally have had a first-hand feel for how good and/or bad teaching affects students. Just in high school I have had teachers that would just assign websites as our lesson and even teachers that sit at their desk for the whole hour; don’t even go over the mindset, homework, and maybe only show one problem so that we’ll know what the homework will be like. Until sophomore year I didn’t even know the differences between you’re, your, too, and to.
I’ve learned at a young age that you can’t have everything you want. Even being the last born in my family, the baby as some call it. Growing up with my parents was kind of hard considering I had two sisters, who both kind of stumbled in their lives. My eldest sister, almost failed to graduate high school and didn’t go to college. She is now a mother of three children.
Many things matter to me whether it’s in school or out of school, my first topic is going to be about things that matter to me. The first one that always comes to my mind when I think about things that matter to me is my family. My dad , my mom, my sister, and my dogs all matter to me. My grades matter to me too, my grades matter a lot because I want to be able to have a stable career and not end up working at mcdonalds or something along those lines. I wanna be an FBI agent when I grow up so I need good grades to be able to go to do that .
There are some arguments against using cell phones during class hours. Cell phones are very unstoppable to the students and it should not be use to them inside the classroom. What can we do? Well, there are many things we can do when a cell phone is found on a student. The phone will be confiscated and a phone home will be required.
Cell phones kids, Teens, adults we all use cell phones we think that they are helpful and they could help us look things up and research things. Cell phones have been a big debate in schools. Should there be cell phones in schools or not? What do you think? Some people think that they are great learning tools for students but others think that they should be focused on their school work not get distracted by looking at cute photos, Youtube, Music, etc.
