She stood their looking deceptioned, disturbed and then she looked at us with her dark piercing brown eyes and said "We found her". This very moment was one my whole family had hoped for. It was supposed to be a moment of relief for every single person in my family but based of the expression on my mom's face it didn't seem like the moment we had hoped for. Nothing like it at all.
The december winds had been quite cold and strong that december. The lil critters from outside were constantly trying to get into the house. Raccoons and squirrels were the most dedicated to get inside. In my family though we had never worried about them because my dog Vella would always take care of them. Vella was an amazing black lab german shepard mix. Her coat was short sleek and the color black, the hairs in our house from that coat were always all over the place.

The day had gone well for me in school. So when I came home and saw my sisters Malu, Melissa, and Ericka crying it seemed like a scene from a drama movie. This made sense and although it was not good news it helped me to stop worrying about Vella constantly, it gave me peace of mind you could say. The years went by and I realized that it is better to focus on the good moments of my time with Vella. The time gave my brain the time needed to think why am I still in discomfort ? When I already know what happened as well as know that she is not suffering in any way. I am grateful for my new way of thinking and that I was able to find out the truth of her disappearance. If I hadn't been able to find out why she hadn't come home for those days then Vella would still trouble me
