Did you know that the Qur’an, the holy book of Islam, values human life so much that one life is considered the equivalent of all the lives in mankind? Islam had many other interesting rules like this in many areas, such as land ownership and self defense. Muhammad ibn Abdallah was one of the first people to hear about this new religion. Archangel Gabriel informed him that Allah was the one god, and after 2 years, Muhammad finally spread his words. At first, many people resisted his teachings, but soon thereafter, Islam began exploding in popularity.
It was the last inning in our all-star game, and we were losing 10 to 8. Our team had 2 outs and we couldn’t get the third. Our pitcher was doing bad, throwing all balls, while all of us in the field were tired, ready to fall asleep at any moment. There goes another walk. They score again.
For fifteen years, I put my heart, effort, and soul into my band Murky Waters. I made it into a career that supports my wife, my stepdaughter, and my parents. Murky Waters is what saved my family and me from poverty in the ghetto of Warsaw, Poland, and it’s what saved me from giving up on life entirely before I met my wife. I met her only a year after Murky Waters began and she was introduced to me by my best friend and drummer, Tony. Anka was two months pregnant with my stepdaughter, Antonia, at the time we met.
What vision do you have of yourself ten years from now? I see myself in the National Basketball Association (NBA) getting money and living the good life. I know it will be tough because life is not easy. I will have to work harder than others to get recognized. I will face a lot of tough obstacles, but I know my main three obstacles.
“Ok, you wait here,” I told Hailey. I hurriedly climbed the stairs to grab my coat so I could walk her to school. Hailey can never run up the stairs. Everyone of them is different height from the last, making it impossible to properly judge how high to lift your foot. Either the stair is too high and she stumbles forward with her foot falling beneath where she was expecting it to stop, or she kicks the step lip with her socked foot.
Find My Voice Accomplishments take me one step closer to happiness and tranquility. For example, maintaining an “A” in a rigorous course, helping others that are struggling, cook for my family, etc. are minor achievements and events that have formed me into a better being. Sometimes, ignorance gets the best of me, and it does conquer my sweet, timid personality that I possess. Accordingly, my accolades never suggest nor imply I am better than anyone else. I never consider highly of myself because we are equally intelligent in our own separate ways.
FOUR THNGS I’D DO THE SAME Turnabout is fair play, especially when I’m involved. My previous post cited “Four Things I’d Do Differently” as I looked back over the decades of my life.
Islam provides me with a defined pathway and comprehensive way of life. More than religious principles, it teaches Muslims tolerance and love. In Minnesota, home to a large Muslim population, the Muslim Community promotes human values that Islam emphasizes such as: peace, justice, mercy, and compassion. It promotes active involvement in society by providing opportunities for community service, interfaith initiatives, and civic engagement.
Secondly, my Personal Experiences influence my beliefs because it is through life experiences that we develop our own beliefs. Thus, because of my personal beliefs and lifestyle, as well as, other influential factors, I would identify myself as a
I want her to come back. I miss her more than anything. I get dad is trying to do his best, I mean what is he supposed to do after something like this has happened? I got to school, seeing the old rusty sign that says “Bronx’s Middle School”. That sign is where my old friend group would meet every morning, but now it’s just a rusty old sign to me.
During the early months of the new year in 2006, my paternal grandfather died of a streptococcus infection. At that time my sister, brother and I were too young to understand, but we soon began to realize that a part of us was different and missing. Our family did not feel complete without my grandfather’s presence. Members of father’s side of the family were despondent and in a state of utter shock. Eventually with time and grit, they fought the sadness together and life resumed its almost as normal as before.
“Shoot!” I exclaimed. I just realized that I had left my math book at school, and now I had 15 unanswered questions looking back at me. “Mom, can I get my math book from school?” I asked.
INTRODUCTION Islam is a religion of mercy for all people, both Muslims and non-Muslims. It is a religion which lays emphasis on the Unity of God, prophethood and then on righteous living. Muslims are the fastest-growing religious group in the world.
They respect their god more than anything and believe that people live to obey god. The main practices of Islam focus on the five pillars of Islam: Declaration of Faith, obligatory prayer, compulsory giving, Fasting in the month of Ramadan and Pilgrimage to Mecca: which include several holidays and rituals. Beliefs are important to Islam. They mainly care about the right beliefs about god, the right beliefs about humanity and the right beliefs about the universe. Something that Islam, Christianity and Judaism have in common, is that they all believe that there is only one god (which makes them monotheistic), which obviously lead to conflicts between the religions.
ISLAM – From Arabic ‘islam ‘submission’, from ‘aslama ‘submit (to God)’. • Islam as a way of life – Islam’s basis is upon one Almighty Allah as God – the oneness of the creator as well as the well as the understanding that Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him*) is the final Messenger of Allah. • Beliefs of Islam: These entail the 5 basic things one as a muslim should focus on and strive to do – these are known as the 5 pillars of Islam, based on the words and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). In doing so, and keeping to it, one may consider themselves successful in this world and the Hereafter – a way of achieving closeness to the Creator, and humbling oneself by following the path shown by the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
