Becoming a Man I had the choice to pick any nonfiction book I wanted to. Out of all the millions of nonfiction books out there I wanted to read The Making of a Man. This autobiography drew my interest for several reasons, one of which being the fact that I have a passion for football and the author, Tim Brown, is a Hall of Famer. I went to a dinner that Tim Brown and Joe Gibbs were speaking at with the football team and everyone that was there got a copy of this book. They spoke to us about Tim Browns life, the struggles he faced, and what the book is about. They also talked about Tim Browns relationship with the lord and he told his story of how the lord has influenced his life. This …show more content…

The book was about three very important things in my life: football, family, and God. After reading the book I knew I made an excellent decision. This book will change your life. It teaches you how to become a man and walks you through the struggles of what it takes to run a family and have the responsibilities of being a man. I would really suggest this book to anyone due to the way it talks about Tim Browns career, shows how having a commitment to God impacts a man’s life, and how he teaches you what it takes to run a family and be a man. Which meant you got with one girl in the morning, a different one during the day, and another one at night. They be congratulated when one of them were able to complete this. He even had a child out of wedlock with one of the girls he slept with. She kept the child and he provided for them but they were never able to make the relationship work and stayed out of touch for the most part. But after years of living the young and reckless life style many of the celebrities choose to be a part of he realized he wasn’t the man he wanted himself to be or the man that God would want him to be. It got so bad that he claims he couldn’t even look at himself in the mirror. This is the sign he needed for a change, and that’s all it took. As he started to find a relationship with God, Tim Brown said “for me once again the answer to my problems is God,” and he realized that through the bible God would guide him. After that he turned his
