As a child, I have never dreamed of becoming a nurse. I developed an interest in a nursing field after I had started working as a caregiver. My work experience as a caregiver helped me to realize that nursing is my calling. Throughout my experience, I have been privileged to know many amazing nurses I admired. Being a caregiver and having served elderly people have changed my perspective on life. It helped me to realize what is important to me in the long run and making a difference in someone’s life is all about life. When I first start working as a caregiver, I didn’t like the job. It was very stressful dealing with variety of patient, and people who will never understand how much you put on to help different patient in short period of time. However, with the help of great nurses I worked with, I learn something new every day. I found my passion in once I thought it was the worst idea to become a caregiver. I am fully aware of how demanding nursing school could be and be a responsible person to hold another person’s life in my hands one day. …show more content…

The purpose was not just to get the job but to see the nurses’ daily routine. My work as a nurse aid has given me firsthand knowledge about what it takes to be a nurse. Not only have me watched nurses on the job every day and know what the job entails, but I have worked with them and supported them in their position. Even though becoming a nurse aid had assured me my passion, I want to push myself to the next level to become a nurse. My passion to learn new things led me to hold a medication aid and phlebotomy training while taking the prerequisites for nursing
