Oh high school, the beginning of a four year time period where time management is the key to success and staying up till three am is nothing but usual. Throughout the course of my first semester at Central High School, I have learned more not only through my education but about myself. I have seen myself change and grow in my learning, tollariance to late nights and early mornings, and coping to having little to no free time. I will always remember freshman year as the time where I began to grow my future. This year has been a time to learn what I need in order to be successful. This year I have strived to spend time on the beneficial options, causing my attitude towards school, sports, and work to be rewarding. Over the past semester I have maintained a four point grade point average, playing sports after a knee injury, all while having a job that obtains my days off. As my opinions grow as I become my own person I have noticed how I take an interest in what is happening with in the world, and other people's lives. History has been an interesting class that I have received my best exam and class grades in yet I have learned the greatest understanding in English. From middle school I came to high school blindsided. I had not learned as much as I needed causing me to work extremely hard to be a more educated person and student. If I could go back to the beginning of September I believe I would have eased into things more so than I did yet I believe how I approached things ended up benefiting me in the long run. Four years of our lives we give up to high school and it should be fun, but it most definitely will not be easy. If I could give anyone advice about my semester of freshman year, it is that take your time, learn something new, and show up, always. Although the upperclassmen and bottom of the high school food chain may be scary, being a freshman is not as bad as one may think. It is very important to always do what you can to be successful. Another thing to keep in mind is that having fun and enjoy your first year of highschool while trying and learning new things. High school is not like middle school, it is harder, but it also entails more opportunity. The last thing I would stress to anyone entering any type of new situation is to show up! Being apart of what is going on is so important, especially if you are able to. The high school experience will not be perfect. There will be ups, and there will be downs but all together some of the most important and life-changing milestones will happen during a four year time period called high
