The Physical Therapist Assistant is an amazing career I will like to go in because I’ll be helping everyone. I have the skill sets to become a great one because I hate seeing people sad and injure, and I’m ambitions on what I’m doing. The job offers great pay, benefits, job opportunities, and can move up to physical therapist. I’m already working for the Miami Heat and one day I will like to work for the basketball team. I love basketball, so working for the basketball team will be a great fit for me and a life time goal.
College is often regarded as a time of exploration, a time to discover interests and passions that ignite a desire to seek sagacity in a field that will alleviate the burdens of others and fulfill one’s self wholeheartedly. It is essential to me that my college career allows me to strive for educational excellence and moral enrichment simultaneously. Through the Pre-Physical Therapy track it will be my focus to obtain an education to help others as I have been helped in the past. Restoring movement and functionality to someone’s life is deeply connected to SPU’s vision, for the work that physical therapists do is equally as transformative for the therapist as it is to the patient. To ensure someone receives the treatment they need to carry out the life they want is paramount
A Physical Therapist is highly-educated, licensed health care professionals who ease the pain of patients. They test people with serious injuries that need to be treated. Approximately 185,000 Physical Therapist are licensed to practice in the United States. Being a PT (Physical Therapist) concludes of various characteristic traits and patience with work environments, patients, salary, duties, and requirements. Employment for Physical Therapist is expected to grow faster than the average through 2018.
Physical Therapy Assistant is an interesting field; it is a job that helps individuals in need. I interviewed Lucero because she is currently working in the same field that I see myself working in the future. The interview took place on November 29th; it lasted an hour and a half. The interview was about me trying to understand more about my future life as a physical therapist assistant. The purpose of this interview was for me to envision if this is the profession that I want for myself, in the future.
Growing up, my parents taught me the importance of education, and having the privilege of attending school. They both grew up in poverty, where education was not a priority, where knowing how to write your name is good enough for an education. I am a first-generation student, I want to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist. Continuing an education is a priority of mine, as I believe that the world is filled with endless lessons that create a broad perspective on various topics.
I have many prerequisites to complete in math and science within the next three years before applying for Physical Therapy programs. Long term goals 5+ years away from this date is, I would see myself practicing as a Physical Therapist helping people get back on their feet and progressing my career
In order to prosper as a physical therapist, I need a program I am proud of and that matches my values. My aspiration to pursue this career stems from desire to give back to the community, develop knowledge in the field through research, and ensure equality to the best of my ability. UW-Madison appears to have these characteristic instilled throughout its program with service oriented groups, premier research, student organizations, and more. In order to assist the underserved, I am interested in learning about and contributing to Global Health, MEDiC, and the Waisman Center to name a few.
I want to become a physical therapist because good health and mobility is the key to sustaining a happy and independent life as we age. I am a non-traditional student. More than ten years have passed, and I believe that time was necessary. I now exhibit the maturity, patience, and understanding to be successful in this career. I have well-developed communication skills, a desire to acquire new knowledge, a passion for teaching, genuine care for others and perseverance to sustain me through stressful situations.
When I arrived to the United States as a permanent resident, I had to face many challenges. I came to a new high school with students speaking a different language and professors with different teaching styles. In my senior year, I completed the Physical/Occupational Therapy program and received the Student Achievement Award for an Outstanding First-Year Student. In this program, I was introduced to the profession, medical terminology, and anatomy with active hand-on clinical labs. I also participated in a clinical experience.
Physical Therapy I picked this career field because it interests me and because I am not the type of person to be behind a desk all day. I will be talking about what an employee does, how their work environment is, how you enter this career, what the pay is like, the job outlook, and the area that you should be in if you want to be in this career field. Physical therapy is in the career pathway of health sciences this includes jobs like doctors, surgeons, nurses, mental health therapists, and physical therapists. People that work in the career pathway of health sciences keep people healthy by doing tests, giving care and medication, or sometimes do surgery.
Every day at physical therapy was exciting. My physical therapist was creative with my rehabilitation, making sure that the exercises were constantly changing and trying to make sure they were relevant to what I wanted to be able to do. While doing my own exercises, I would talk with my physical therapist about the other treatments I saw going on around me. I wanted to know why each patient was doing each treatment. By the end of the summer, I was ready to be discharged, just in time to move in to college.
Majoring in Physical Therapy has always been my goal. Physical therapists use different methods to help injured people improve their mobility and manage their pain. These types of therapists are much needed in the medical field. Before considering this as a career many people may ask themselves: 1. What are the responsibilities of a Physical Therapist?
The prenatal diagnostics and prenatal screening being routine procedures should be considered as advantage of modern medicine. It helps to reveal wide spectrum of fetus abnormal conditions, but not only congenital defects and malformations. Early detection of many of them could help to perform surgical correction and necessary management as soon as possible in order to save newborns’ lives. On the other hand, this method is widely discussed and it has many opponents, and in some countries prenatal diagnostic procedures is not considered now as a screening method. Main ethical issues are terminations of pregnancies in case of malformations, which may be supposed as eugenical abortion, inform consent and problem of decision-making process.
By 2026 physical therapy jobs are said to be increased by 25% (“10 Interesting Physical Therapy Facts & Statistics,” 28 Dec. 2017). Physical therapists are doctors that help people who have pain during movement or have lost some range of motion. They help those patients regain their abilities or manage their pain (Bellamy). This is a great career to go into. There are many aspects that go into being a physical therapist like degrees, advancement opportunities, day to day responsibilities, and much more.
