My ultimate high school experience includes four pillars: a successful education, valuable life lessons, a supportive social life, and strong family bonds. Earning a successful education required determination inside and outside of class. Learning valuable life lessons led me through “the hard way” of learning. Finding a supportive social life required new friendships to be found and old ties to be severed. Strengthening family bonds came with supportive pep talks and plenty of arguments. Senior year has become the peak where I can reflect in my ideal formula for succeeding in high school. Freshman year, I chose to take the academic path leading me towards graduating Valedictorian. By taking all honors classes, I have found the classes that I enjoy the most to be math related. Studying in honors, College Credit Plus, and Advanced Placement courses has proved to be the most difficult challenge of high school. However, earning a grade of an A in all classes has become the most rewarding achievement of my high school career. My friends often face the same challenges in school, work, or their personal life. Together, we work through difficult high school challenges. Having a society of students taking similar classes with similar work ethics allows less stress. Peers of the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel Honors College can provide this supportive group of students.
Family relations can be hindered during college as students find their own personality and lifestyle for their future. Friendships become equitable to family. Again, members of the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel Honors College would create a group of hardworking students dedicated to similar interests. This support from inspired students would set up honors college members for success in their future careers.
Although joining an honors college is not a the only factor that determines one’s success, the qualities of determination, strong work ethic, and selflessness, which honor students hold, gear them towards success.
