Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in several extracurricular activities. Some of these activities include: National Honor Society, Student Council (treasurer), FFA, Marching & Concert Band (treasurer), baseball, tennis (team captain), track, and basketball.
Academic All-State (tennis), Highest Honors, top 10 in my class, senior homecoming court, Tri-County Citizen Athlete of the Month, most respected underclassman award, TVC Second Team All-Conference (tennis), 2015 tennis state qualifier, sportsmanship award for tennis & baseball, member of TVC Honors Band, and Freshman Class Representative.
Since my sophomore year in high school, I have been employed at The Back Forty Bar and Grill. On average, I work 10-15 hours weekly.

Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by the thought and design that is put into every package. Most people do not realize that a packaging engineer uses calculus and other skills to make the package they are using both functional and cost effective. I am interested in earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging at Michigan State University so I can live my dream of becoming a packaging engineer. The MSU School of Packaging is found in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and is a pioneer in its field. Nearly half of the packaging graduates found in the U.S. come from Michigan State. In its flexibility, this program will allow me to leverage my personal skills and interests. In addition, packaging is an extremely broad program and is associated with several career opportunities. Also, since my campus tour last summer, it has been my dream to study abroad. While studying abroad, I wish to gain several invaluable life lessons and experiences which will benefit me throughout my career. Furthermore, MSU’s study abroad program is a global leader in packaging innovation and sustainability, with networks in Sweden, Spain, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
During my stay at MSU, I plan to advance my involvement in extracurricular activities and organizations. MSU offers several student organizations and events, such as the Coalition of Professional Packers and Academic Connections (CoPPAC), job fairs, and intramural sports. These encounters will allow me to create strong connections and networks within the Spartan community. Also, I am intending to take my academics very seriously during college.
