Have you ever wondered what the world will be like without medicine? What would it be like to live with no hope for the future if you ever became the victim of a disease or an injury of some sort? If you did, then you most likely realized how important the role of medicine is in the lives of human beings. To my family and I, medicine has been a gift that has allowed us to remain alive and healthy together. Hence the reason why I plan to continue my career in this amazing field.

My family’s appreciation for medicine started when my parents were young. My father was diagnosed with Polio at a young age and for many years; it was believed that the disease was going to ruin him. My parents lost their first children when complication with their first pregnancy resulted in a forceful termination that took the life of my twin brothers. Years later, another pregnancy complication threatened the life of my older sister, however after a constant battle; the doctors were able to bring her into the world safely.
