771 Words4 Pages

Throughout life, I’ve faced many challenges that have all resulted in my growth. I’ve learned much about being a proper leader, role model, and friend. Every day, I strive to show compassion to everyone I meet, set smart goals, and work hard to achieve them. I believe that if I were a Gamechang3rs Ambassador, I would be able to utilize my communication skills, leadership skills, and compassion to encourage younger generations of students to leave a lasting mark on the world through their own legacy. As an individual, I strongly believe in showing compassion to everyone I meet. No matter a person’s differences or skills, I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. Since I was young, I’ve struggled with self-confidence and had a difficult time pushing myself to reach my full potential. If someone had shown a little compassion to me and encouraged me to do my best every day, I might’ve pushed myself a little harder and achieved much more. Because I understand the importance of showing compassion, I strive to demonstrate it daily, in and out of school. This summer, I attended my church’s small mission trip, known as Serve GR. I understand the need for setting high goals, as I have seen myself achieve so much more than I thought I ever could. I work hard in school, aiming for another 4.0 at the end of the year, while taking many hard classes, including three AP classes and dual enrollment through Chinese Immersion. Even though these classes can be very challenging, I know that it will all be worth it in the end. My mom plays a big part in my academic goals and achievements. She has encouraged me to take harder classes and do extra work outside of school to make future learning easier. Not only has she encouraged me to set high academic goals, but she also has helped me develop a Grand Rapids Youth Toastmasters Club which helps other students my age develop their leadership and communication skills through public speaking. I am hoping to not only improve my own skills but others as well. If everyone was encouraged to set high goals for themselves, more students would discover how much potential they have and how to fully use
