As somebody who enjoys working within a healthcare environment, this role is an excellent opportunity for me to secure a permanent position in an important local employer. As an experienced office professional, I am able to demonstrate the skills mentioned in the job specification. I feel that I combine general office skills, computer skills and an empathetic personality which makes me an excellent candidate for this role.

In my current role at Southend Borough Council, I have used my typing and computer skills to improve efficiency within the team. For example, I have:

Reduced lead time of entering referral data from 28 days to 5 days, which ensured care agencies were paid on time, and that care packages were put in place more quickly.

In my previous role at Age UK, I started as a volunteer and became full-time, permanent, paid member of staff after a few months. In this role I have achieved:

Reduced time for data entry from 2 weeks to same day, which allowed Age UK to receive payments on time from CQC, and volunteers to receive expenses reimbursements within target period.
Worked with the finance team to achieve compliance regarding expenditure in large projects, like The Big Lottery Fund, Glaxo SmithKline and Sport England.
