National Junior Honors Society Essay By: Megan Pacchioli I am very excited by the opportunity to represent my school as a member of the National Junior Honors Society. Both in and out of school I support the Five Pillars of the NJHS, which are scholarship, service, citizenship, character, and leadership. I represent these five pillars by my grades and academic achievements in school, my dedication to my church, my dojo, and my soccer team. As well as taking part in my communities activities, being a responsible person, and manifesting my leadership on the court/field out of school.
Brendan Weisinger Professor Espinoza English 001A 7 February 2023 Educational Experiences To begin with, my life has been a mix of many different kinds of education from school and field trips to the outside world. All these different experiences changed the person I am today; without any of it, I would be a completely different person than I am today. The different teachers I have had, to the different experiences that changed my life caused me to grow into the person I am today. I think that the education system changed how I grew as a person and that could be why I have some faults.

I have completed grades nine and ten Manufacturing Technology and am currently enrolled in the grade eleven Manufacturing Engineering Technology course.
Throughout my school career, I have been a student and artist simultaneously. Growing up in the world of ballet has helped me be able to develop the important skill of channeling my energy into a something outside of academics, keep my mental stability and creativity in check, and have a community of peers and instructors that care about me and support me. I can’t picture growing up any other way, and that is why I now am always pushing for more arts opportunities within our public school system. Although I am lucky to be as fortunate as I am, I still had hardships throughout my childhood and teenage years, and I still struggle with those hardships.
Considering the intersection among my interest, personality, skills, and work values, I would like to do my best to help people discover and reveal social problems happened in our society. With the help of the SII test and the MBTI, I could first identify my career options consistent with my interest and personality. Throughout my educational and professional development, the question, “what would you do if money wasn’t an issue,” pops up from time to time. I ponder that question occasionally. If money wasn’t an issue, I would spend most of my time in community service, while furthering my education to become an inspiring teacher. I have a keen passion to learn and help others. Last year, I had the opportunity to join and serve AmeriCorps National Civilian Corps; it’s a domestic community service program that builds leaders and build communities and schools.
In elementary school, the concluding bell signals an exodus from learning that my peers desperately anticipate. However, I did not resemble the typical student as I dreaded the end of the school day because it indicated the commencement of labor at my parents’ restaurant. While my classmates cherished the evening by relaxing in the blissful tranquility of rural Indiana, I would arrive from school to assist my parents by preparing food or taking orders from customers too weary to cook dinner themselves. Each evening I would spot my classmates engaging in an epic struggle of hide and seek while I was imprisoned in the restaurant to support the family venture. Although my family possessed a business, our unstable economic situation constantly
As the oldest of eight children and many cousins, I have always loved little kids. Hearing them laugh, seeing them smile, seeing them overcome something and being able to celebrate their accomplishments are all things I enjoy. I also love teaching them and always find it rewarding when I get to see a light bulb go off. Because of this, I would like to place my career pathway in education. More specifically, as an elementary school teacher.
Like many children when they were growing up, I was inconsistent and could never determine which of my interests I truly aspired to improve. In my early elementary school years, the question of what I wanted to be was always satisfied with the idea of being an artist. Another skill that became remarkable to me was the ability to communicate with hundreds of groups around the world. By the time I was eight, I came to actually understand what my mom’s career was: an English teacher for immigrants.
