Why I Am Attending College
Throughout my high school career the biggest question everyone was asked was, what are you going to do after high school? My obvious answer was always that I was going to college. No one has ever asked me why I chose that answer until now. I always thought that only the smart kids go to college after high school and all the other kids were sort of dumb or lost in life. I set goals and made plans for myself early in my high school career and in my opinion, once I meet those goals I will live a happy and prosperous life.
I have recently thought about why I decided to go to college after high school. The only answer I had for this question before I thought deeply about it was that I want to make a decent amount of money as an adult. A few days ago I realized that I considered a lot more factors before I chose this path. I am attending college because I want to be a successful and well-rounded adult someday. Also, I wanted to have the college experience right after high school. I wanted to learn how to be independent and take care of myself so I could be that successful person I want to be sooner in life than later.

There was also a small percentage of my class that was talking about going into the work force right after high school. I thought to myself, how could they become successful in life if they don’t go to college? I considered the thought that maybe my expectations might be different from there expectations. In my opinion, going to college has a lot more advantages than going into the work force after high school. There is a greater chance that someone with a college degree will make more money than someone who does not. The only advantage, in my opinion, for someone going in to the work force is that they will be making money sooner than someone who attends
