Choices
College is a new chapter in my life. In high school, I received satisfying grades, but I knew if I had more motivation I could have had exceptional grades. Finding a balance between my school work, sports, and job was challenging in the beginning, eventually I learned time management. Using time management and setting priorities have reduced my procrastination, while increasing my motivation. Having the support from my family and teachers were important to my success. I chose to continue my studies in college because I hope it will test my abilities, make my parents proud, and help pursue my career.
In high school, I took classes that did not challenge me to my fullest until my last year. Challenging myself in academics has shown me that I have more motivation. Attending college will help me further my education to pursue my goals in life. I have difficulties choosing the correct education courses because I want to take the easy route in life. However, I have learned that choosing the easy route may seem satisfying, but in reality it is holding me back from success. I am determined to take more classes that will advance my education. My parents have a higher expectation for my education in contrast to my brothers, who they do not push as hard. Since the first day of middle school my parents have set strict rules to ensure my education success. Even though my parents may seem like control freaks; I know they have the best intentions and only want me to go further in my career. I am grateful for the opportunity to attend college because I know that other students are unable to due to situations in their lives.
