I want to be a leader of the Prosper High School Band because I want to help set the standards for the coming years and help those who have trouble organizing their time/ schedule throughout the marching season and the 2018- 2019 school year. As well as help them gather their thoughts about a specific subject or issue. If I am not chosen as a leader in the next semester, my daily do’s and participation will not be affected. I will strive to be the best that I can, until the end of my high school career.
Joining band had an immense and almost immediate impact on my life. Before being in band I had never had a talent that I felt completely confident in. I enjoyed practicing and spent many hours trying to improve my musical ability. In
I hate marching band. Leaving the trap of a class was the best decision I made in my high school experience. Once I was through with band, I joined theater. Joining theater for my schedule well, introduced me to friends, and opened my mind to new possibilities I hadn't considered before. Marching band was physically demanding.
I know I could be a Drum Major because of my passion for band and my ability to lead. Ever since I first picked up a trumpet in fifth grade, I realized that I have a passion of music. The joy of not only learning the language, but picking up a horn and playing it was an experience unmatched by anything else. Fast Forward four years to my first band camp, both nerve racking and electrifyingly exciting. While music rehearsal happened and I felt excited for the coming four years, nothing could compare to the first day of marching, taught by Anna, Connor, and Jake.
It sometimes takes up a lot of time, but I still manage to balance the time between my academics and band
Why do you want to become Section Leader? The reason I want to become section leader is because I want to be able to influence the incoming freshman that way they get an understanding of what is expected of them. I also want to be able to set a tone for next years band and try to discourage negativity and promote positivity. By being a section leader freshman to seniors could learn the kind of attitude and behavior they should have.
I've been in band since middle school, that makes my involvement in band to be 5 years long. Along the way I've learned from directors, upperclassmen, and instructors what it takes to become a better musician or marcher. With several years of band under my belt it makes me qualified to assist with helping other members. I've been involved in programs like RGV LEAD Ambassador and National Honor Society that strengthen my leadership and communication skills, which are key skills needed for being drum major. I am prepared for the responsibilities that come with being a drum major.
When I was in Year 5, a children's theatre company came to my primary school and performed a show about a journey through space. The use of extravagant costume, aesthetically pleasing proxemics and exaggerated acting really interested me. It was this experience that really opened my eyes to the world of theatre and since then I have been obsessed. I want to study Musical Theatre at university in hopes of having a career in this subject.
Kaitlyn Hatchett Mr. Bergmann Senior English P5 28 August 2015 The Benefits of Participating in High School Band High school band is often looked upon as an activity where a bunch of nerds get in big, bulky, sweaty uniforms and walk around the football field during halftime all the while playing music that they have memorized. Although this is 99.9% true, marching band is much more than that and if you think about what was just stated, that takes a lot of time, effort, and dedication. Marching band provides students with life lessons and skills that can never be forgotten. There are some major “plus factors” of being a part of a high school band such as: students get to be around other students that they normally would not associate with,
Why I want to go to prep. Prep is is my dream high school. My father went to Prep, my Grandfather went to Prep, and many other people in my family went to Prep. It also has a good educational program which I'm excited to be integrated into if I get in! I want to go to Prep because I like everyone else, I want to learn.
Band has always had some type of involvement in my life. Whether it was me making the music or someone else performing and me just spectating, observing, the music. When I was back in elementary, I played piano with enjoyment, it was all I ever wanted to play. My oldest sister, Kaycee, was one of the reasons I chose flute. In all honesty, playing flute was not my choice, if I had it my way I would have played piano since I loved piano before fourth grade.
Band has been a big part of my high school career. I participated in both marching and concert bands. There were many opportunities to grow and succeed in each band. I also did solo and ensemble where I was able to get more directed feedback about my music. Being part of the music program has allowed me to grow as a musician and learn to work with others.
Why do I want to be Staff? I would love the opportunity to be staff because I would like to make the server a more friendly place for all the users that come across this wonderful server. I have often found, with the late nights I have had recently, that there are never any moderators on. I would like to change that. With me as helper the chat can be a safe environment for all the youngsters that play on the server that do not be introduced to swearing or inappropriate themes spoken of at such a young age.
What will I be? What will I be? I will be a music professor. Why do I want to be a music professor?
I have learned how to read musical pieces, how to play different piano-like instruments, and how to better organize my thoughts and critical thinking. I am a sophomore in high school and have been for a while now. That makes the experience of me being in band a time period of one to two years. Band has changed me for the better, whether it be me learning how to navigate myself through life or music, it has been there for me for a long time now. Without band and music, I do not know who I would be.
