Not many people can say that they can watch those commercials encouraging adoption without their hug strings being tugged at. Adopting a dog from a shelter is taking away from the overcrowding in shellters, not adding to it, and you’re giving a dog a second chance at life. Adopting a shelter dog has it’s many benefits, and one of them is definitely the fact that you’re impacting an animal’s life. Usually shelter pet’s are already potty trained, vaccinated, microchipped, behaviorally tested, and spayed/neutered so you don’t have to worry about training or anything, as you would have if you had bought a dog from a pet store.
