Being an adult gives me more freedom and allows me to make my own choice which I thought was a good thing at first. Now I am starting to realize how mistaken I was because this extra freedom I got, just puts more responsibilities on me. Now since I make my own choices I must make the right ones and take responsibility for all consequences. Despite these negative sides of growing up there are some advantages. For instance, I am getting more respected by people and treated as an adult rather than a child. Being mature also makes me experience a variety of new things such as going to university and traveling to other parts of the world. Unlike school, in university and even when I get a job I will not have to study subjects that I am not interested in. I intend to study medicine in Germany. Going to Germany is very risky but despite that I am still planning to go there because of the great future it provides. It is also the only country except Egypt where I will not be totally a lone since my cousin and sister are also living there. I already have the A1 certificate in the German language so getting a visa and go to Germany will not be very difficult. There I will continue studying German until C1 which will take about a year. Afterwards, I will enter a foundation year where I will have to study almost everything I took in Grade 12 again in German. The fact that I might be wasting all this effort makes me so worried especially since only about 30 students of all applicants get accepted. Fortunately, in Egypt you can apply to universities and if you get accepted, you can maintain your place in that university without attending it. Thus, I will apply to medical universities in Egypt before going to Germany so that I would have a backup plan if I did not make it into
