In the United States of America, segregation based upon race has been happening for an awfully long time. This means that colored people cannot be in the same area as white people and vice versa, but why? Why are black people given so much hate? They have done nothing wrong to others. Even governments and police enforce this rule and people are arrested if this strict rule is not followed. This issue is also not recent. It has been happening for many years now, so it is time for a change. Martin Luther King Jr had even stated in the Letter from Birmingham Jail, “We have waited for more than three hundred and forty years…”, which shows just how long segregation has been an issue in America. It is time to really get to know one another. All kinds of segregation in America should end. Segregation in America should be banned because it is unfair, inconvenient, and could affect the intelligence of America. …show more content…

Some schools have better educational supplies used to teach, while others do not. The chances are that schools of coloured people do not have these supplies. Plessy Ferguson even states, “separate educational facilities are inherently unequal”, (Ferguson, factmonster.com). Since they cannot go to schools that do offer these tools and facilities, their education is marred. In turn, those colored students cannot obtain good jobs. Many people in America are colored, which means many people will either have low-paying jobs or have no job at all because of the inferior education they received. This could mean that America will produce less money, which will affect its success and intelligence. If there are only a few people working in America, it could lose its success as a country, leading to many poor
