Travelling To Ecuador: An Amazing Opportunity This year students at Christa McAuliffe Charter School have the opportunity to travel to Ecuador. This is a very exciting event and traveling opportunity that many students hope to go to. Even though we are the ones traveling, this doesn't just benefit us. There are many reasons that scholars would like to go. Community service, learning about the land and history, and the exciting and beautiful culture are just a few of the many reasons we are excited to go. First, we will participate in community service. We will help schools, neighborhoods, and the environment. We will specifically help in health, education, agriculture, clean water and sanitation, and alternative income and livelihood. This shows that this trip doesn't just benefit us, but it benefits the community as well. Together as a team we can get things done and make a difference in the community. Next, we will experience a new and exciting culture. We will try new foods, meet new people, see what the Ecuador lifestyle is like. We will see how people cook, and what their habits are. In other words, by doing activities we will learn and gain knowledge. Just some of the few things that we will gain information of are, and increase awareness of global perspectives, foster appreciation for different cultures, strengthen new language skills, see curriculum come to life, sharpen skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and global competence in a global setting, and develop leadership skills to successfully navigate new experiences with confidence.
