Introduction
Abortion is one of the most highly debated and polarizing topics in the United States. This divide has created conflict among people that believe that abortion is the murder of a human being and those who believe that it is not. As a result some legislatures have created 20-24 week bans on abortions claiming either that the fetus can feel pain at 20 weeks or that the fetus is viable after 24 weeks (ReWire). Opponents to these bans argue that they have real and disastrous consequences on the physci of women and their families, as well as physical problems for women. The physiological effect created by these bans are a result of women being turned away from abortions causing them to feel pressured, causing depression, desperation, and stress(ANSIRH). On the other hand forcing women to carry out their pregnancy to full term puts their health at risk forcing them to endure a procedure more dangerous than abortion (Dudley).

The stomach and intestines which are supposed to be down in the abdomen, were up in the chest cavity. I never thought I would ever need an abortion. I could carry the baby to term and watch her suffocate or I could end the pregnancy early and let her go peacefully. It wasn’t just the effect it would have had on us but it was the effect it would have on our two year old. So we decided that ending the pregnancy was the best way to proceed”(Planned
