Animal testing had been occurring for centuries. It can be dated back to the ancient times of the Greeks and Romans. Physicians would dissect animals with the interest to obtain knowledge. One physician said that he would rather use a pig because he wanted to avoid seeing an unpleasant expression of an ape. Humans do not want to think of animals as on the same level of us. In the 16th century it has been recorded that scientist who perform experiments and operations on live animals, do not consider animals to be on the same lineage of us and barley care for them. Relado Colombo was known to perform live lectures on pregnant dogs. Maehle said that he would take the young fetuses from the mother and harm them I front of her. The mother dog would bark furiously ad attend her young, ignoring her sufferings. A human mother would have done the same thing. Even though animals cannot speak and are not able of our thinking, they do not deserve to go through horrible experiments just to better us. Animal testing needs to stop where animals do not suffer because experimenting on them is cruel and unfair.
What is the need for animal testing? Humans and animals have many characteristics and features in common. About twenty million animals are experiment subjects annually, most of these animals are used in hope to make human

Another experiment done is ecotoxicity, a test that involves fish or sea creatures and it shows scientists the environmental effects due to certain chemicals. In these test it is possible that about half of the fish die within the first few days, and longer experiments measure the entire life cycle and can last up to two hundred days. There are numerous amounts of experiments done on animals for research purposes and they all seem to affect the animal
