In recent generations, there have been students that have had problems with their college debt. In 2016, Jillian Berman has stated that, “the outstanding balance of the nation’s student loans is growing by an estimated $2,726.27 every second according to the clock above developed for MarketWatch by StartClass, an education data site”. Almost every college student has debt. If college was free it would be great, but it isn’t. Student that have less debt have a harder time dealing with debt than the students that have $20,000 or over. In addition to, athletes of all sorts, Tense, golf and even bowling can get scholarships and not just basketball and football athletes. Students can get scholarships form their coaches when coming into college. “For student athletes, these financial aid programs offer a way to turn athletic ability into cash for college. The majority of sport specific financial aid comes in the form of scholarships, and most students are well aware of the sizable scholarships offered to exceptional high school football and baseball players”. There are more than football and baseball scholarships, there is bowling “United States Bowling Congress supports amateur and professional bowlers at every stage of their development. The USBC offers a wide range of programs for youth bowlers, including a variety of grants and scholarships for exceptional players. Awards are offered in every competing age group, with amounts ranging from $100 to $1000” (college scholarships.org). Students don’t realize that there are scholarships for ever sport and not just the big sports but even the smallest sports can have scholarships just like bowling. Even though, student athletes have more chance to have for grants and scholarships than non-athletes.
