Many people die in America for texting and driving. Being distracted while driving has become a dangerous situation on roads. Did you know in the Us, 3,328 people died due to distracted driving in 2012? Yeah, neither did I, in regard to injuries 421,000 people were only injured for texting and driving.

On the other hand, I know about texting and driving first hand. When I was a junior in high school I got into a car accident. Guess why? Because I was TEXTING AND DRIVING!! I hit an old lady and she ended up getting seriously hurt. It’s crazy because when you’re texting and driving you think you can focus on both things, but you can’t! “ Five seconds is the minimum amount of time your attention is taken away from the road. When you’re on your phone while driving. In reality, Did you know 71% of teens say they’ve sent sms messages while driving? And 78% of teens say they’ve read messages while driving, that is crazy! because 77% only think they can stay safe. 55% drivers claim it’s easy to text. Texting while driving, is a problem. Above all it’s illegal in a lot of places. Texas is only one of 7 states that hasn’t completely banned texting while driving. Many local junidiction passed laws making it illegal in their cities. In my opinion if it’s an emergency they would call, that’s still a distraction but it’s better then texting. For example I got in trouble at school I would call my mom to let her know to come get me and tell her what happen. I feel like everybody is so used to texting but sometimes you have to pick and choose when to text and when to reply to that
