Alcohol is a popular, legal drug. It has been around for a long time and people had always enjoyed its effects. It always seems to liven up a party, but it can be lethal when combined with the operation of an automobile. Drinking and driving is unsafe for the driver and everyone else; passengers, pedestrians, other drivers... Even though drinking may be fun, people should stop drinking and driving; it is the leading cause of death among teens and young adults and is illegal in all states to drive any vehicle when the blood alcohol concentration exceeds a certain percentage.
Alcoholic drinks are known to produce a depressive feeling which decrease brain’s functions and act as sedatives. Also, is known for enhancing and quickly altering moods and feelings. When a person consumes alcohol, it quickly enters the bloodstream and is distributed to all parts the body, dulling areas of the brain that leads to poor coordination, double vision, and decrease of self-control (“Alcohol”).
