I think that exercise is very important, to have your body remain healthy. However, I really dislike Physical Education class, and I’m sure many kids will agree. First of all, I don’t like that everything is decided and forced by the teachers. Of course, there are rules and units that the school decides, but some classes have to run more than others because of the teacher they have. I think that’s unfair, and every class should have to run the same amount or exercise the same amount. To add on, I think that P.E. shouldn’t be as long of a period as the others. Although exercise time is crucial, the periods should not last about an hour. Especially on block days, when the periods are longer, I feel we should shorten the PE period and just make the other periods longer. Excessive PE time just makes us all very tired, not energetic. Teachers might think that all the running around we do will make us wake up and be more alert, but to be honest, it just makes me more tired than I was, and sweaty. …show more content…
in elementary school, and it wasn’t that bad back then. We would do fun things like frisbee, and wouldn’t have to run much. The only time we ran was on Friday, where there was a thing called Montclaire Milers. It was a system where you have an option to either run or walk around the track, and all grades did it together. Everybody had a card that had numbers, which showed how many rounds you had made around. There would be certain rewards along the way, like popsicles and strawberries. Certainly, we wouldn’t be able to do it here in middle school since there are too many people to get rewards for, and walking around the track a couple times wouldn’t be enough exercise. But I think we should have a fun arrangement like that as well. When I came to middle school, the change was drastic. We had to do way more things in P.E. than elementary. We ran one miles and sometimes two miles, which I was never ready for. But when I entered seventh grade, we constantly run two miles, and my energy never lasts that long. Sometimes I feel sick and thirsty, but some teachers have a rule that you are not allowed to go drink water more than once. I think that rule is very ignorant, since someone could pass out from dehydration. The teachers/school should get rid of rules like that. Taking points away for not dressing out or for not being able to do something because you’re injured is unfair. There are times when you were up late the night before, completing homework or at an
