The advertisement I found is about gun control in America. It was printed by a Canadian ad agency and is a full page advertisement, it shows two younger boys, about nine or ten years old, in an old, raggedy gym. There are basketballs, footballs and dodgeballs laying on the ground in the background. One of the children is holding a dodgeball while the other is holding an assault rifle. Above the children’s head, in a very large print, it reads “One child is holding something that’s been banned in America to protect them.
Gun control has been a controversial issue for many years. Many citizens believe that if gun control is strictly enforced it would reduce the threat of crime. People have the right to bear arms for protection, or even just the pleasure of hunting and recreational activity. With the recent events involving firearms and mass shootings, people are skeptical whether to increase or decrease gun laws. Americans have a constitutional right to own handguns and stricter laws and licensing will not effectively save lives.
A weapon in the wrongs hands is the maximum danger humanity can face. Nowadays, violence and delinquency in society are viewed as the maximum problem solver. Humanity is full of chaos; hate and envy seize our souls. Guns are the ultimate security for some citizens but for others, these add to a feeling of defenselessness. Throughout history, any topic related to guns means a plethora of problems.
When it all comes down to the use of guns, or any weapon against another, there is always three issues that most come across: do I actually have the nerve to go through with it, can I do this and be okay mentally, and can I truly put others lives before mine? These questions, these logical thoughts, are frankly the most important aspects to using any weapon against another. Even if it is in the intent to protect another, you still must consider these facets before doing anything that could bring more harm to others than aid. In relation to this, it shows that these same ideals process through teacher’s, as well as any adult’s, mind frame. Trusting someone not certified and trained thoroughly for an immense period of time with a weapon to protect young children and other adults would be putting the kids and the protector at risk.
Gun control also limits our constitutionally derived right to own firearms. If gun control is enforced, law-abiding citizens will be forced to give up their guns and their right to own guns, while many criminals who own guns may illegally keep theirs. As the saying goes “If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.” Guns are an important aspect of our society in many ways. They allow for protection, recreation, and hunting.
Gun Control Gun control over the years has been a controversial subject, with people arguing for both sides. The 2nd amendment states that everyone in the U.S. has a right to bear arms. Mass shootings and suicides by firearm have been a growing concern for many people living in the U.S. Numerous people making the argument that there should be more gun control. Having gun control would help lessen the deaths by firearms in the country for a variety of reasons.
Shooting’s have been a part of our history for a long time now and something should have been done about it long before now. Gun Control has been a heated topic for a long time and not much has been done about it. There was talk, for a while, about making significant changes about gun violence and laws against it, stronger background checks and banning military weapons, but nothing has changed. And nothing is going to change if we don’t do anything about it. There have been rallies, there have been walkouts, there have been so many issues and tragedies that relate to gun violence.
On, February 14, 2018, a mass school shooting in Florida got the nation’s attention, however, gun violence has always been an issue, and it is only getting worse. Now people are saying there needs to be something done, and there are many that agree. Starting off there should be stricter gun laws, because in today’s world it is too easy to get handguns and assault rifles. With, the capabilities a firearm holds, such as taking people’s lives there must be stricter restrictions that could help cut down the gun violence and save lives. Increasing the age of purchasing a firearm would be one step.
There 's a story behind the guns and the different type of corruption they cause. On March 17, 2017 two children were accidentally shot without life threatening injuries. According to an article from CNN, where they talked about the percentage of gun related incidents with children. However, that could´ve been prevented if the gun wasn 't there in the first place. The two children were left Chuck-E-Cheese and went ahead of their family and inside the SUV was a .38-caliber pistol, which was indeed the weapon ¨accidentally¨ used by the children.
Firearms are one of the most dangerous modern day inventions. While they can be used for good, it is more common for them to be used for evil. They are very important for military and police use, but they are not needed for civilian use. Firearms being in the hands of civilians does far more harm than good. Most countries practice gun control, however the United States of America does not.
For many years, and counting the owning of firearms have been legal, and very popular here in the United States and around the world in many other countries. In today’s modern time it takes very little effort to acquire one of these potentially life threatening weapons, and to me that scares the life out of me. The use of firearms has plagued our nation with unnecessary violence, and the banning of owning these firearms will bring forth great benefits to our nation. With the banning of owning these weapons we’ll notice a huge drop in public shootings, in which have been popping up left and right in America, a place in which our citizens shouldn’t have to fear or worry about the safety of their lives. The owning of firearms is a danger in your own home to your children, who wander upon them and lose their lives due to these weapons.
Guns are just a tool, like knives and hammers and it completely depends on the people on how they use it. People who support guns and arms say that the Second Amendment secures individual’s right to carry guns with them and that gun rights is needed for self-protection, and was intended for military to have peace and defend the country if needed (Spitzer, 70). Most of the Americans use guns as a source to protect themselves and they believe that gun ownership prevents crime. A study conducted on November 26, 2013 showed that bans on weapons did not significantly affect murder rates at the state level (Lane, 5). Moreover, even if the rules and regulations are executed on gun control, not all criminals obey the law.
Phillip Givens Sara T. Egger ENGL 1302 26 February 2018 Guns Don’t Kill People, People Kill People What is gun control? How do we attempt to control it and to what degree? Do we make all guns illegal or only automatic rifles such as the AR-15 for example?
“Just in 2018 there has been 18 school shootings, on average per week” (snopes:How many school shootings have taken place so far in 2018). The incidents that have occurred have been a big impact in people 's lives. Yet no one with power has spoken about the problems regarding the recent shooting. See, there are two main sides of gun control, the side that agrees and the side that doesn’t. People who agree believe that no one should be able to own a gun, or that there should simply be stricter gun control laws.
This makes us wonder why people can be so defensive over something like a gun that is so dangerous and has lead to a lot of deaths in the American society. Gun control is essential in our society today because it will help prevent unnecessary shootings and crime rate Gun control will play a major part in the decrease of the crime and murder rate. Therefore, in my point of view, guns should be totally controlled and regulated by the government. If gun ownership is controlled by the government, only a limited number of people will be allowed to own guns. In addition, the regulations will make it difficult for people to access guns unless they have a concrete reason as to why they need the weapon.
