Gun Ownership Debate
Many people have an opinion about gun ownership, which has become a hugely significant issue in the United States (US) and in other countries that allow their citizens to have guns. Gun possession among civilians is thought to lead to more civilian deaths and an increase in gun-related incidents, for instance, shooting of Walter Scott, both of which increase people’s anxiety levels. According to SafeAround, the world’s safest countries include Denmark, Iceland, Austria, and Finland. The US, however, ranks 55th. Some American citizens want to prohibit the ownership of guns, but the government has been resistant to revising gun policies. Guns cannot lead to fewer deaths than there are right now. According to gunviolencearchive, in the US, gun violence incidents are increasing over 50,000 times each year, and over 10,000 people are dying each year. Furthermore, the record indicates that gun use for defensive purposes is minimal. There is an example of gun violence. In this violence, the people use the gun in a purpose of killing. According to The Guardian, which posted the news in 2017 of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, 20 children and six adults died as a result of gun violence. Protesters included 400 to 500 people lining both sides of the street, and they were crying while protesting. Gun is killing more people, and making more incident and by this events, it shows that how does the gun work in human life. Human life contains the value, but killing others by misusing guns is not showing that one values human life. Therefore, to protect the value of human life, there should be limited access to guns, which also means limited access to guns to save other people’s
