With about 1 trillion and 41 billion dollars, the United States spends the most money on healthcare, when compared to the rest of the world. However, when Forbes conducted a study to rank the healthcare systems of 10 developed countries, the United States ranked, you guessed it, last. With all this spending on healthcare, there is a false notion that America has the best healthcare system in the world. However that is unfortunately, not true. With our two party system , there have been two different platforms on healthcare: the democratic side and the GOP side. Each healthcare boils plan down to one aspect : whether the government is in charge of healthcare distribution or, if the consumer is given an opportunity to decide what they need. However, it is quite clear that the democratic healthcare plan, which favors a governmental controlled system is far more beneficial to the American people, because it provides a larger scope, in terms of coverage, better healthcare policies such as Medicaid and it gives better coverage to those with pre existing conditions. …show more content…
