What happens when you love too much only to end up the one that is left behind? The passion of love is something that is written about in every form of media around the world such as plays, books, songs, and shows. Love is in everything, it is the foundation of a relationship. But every action has a reaction, so for every ounce of love you put into a relationship there is that little switch that can turn it into a pure form of hate, the kind saved for someone you once deeply cared for. Euripides’ play Medea focuses on the passion of love and how there is a fine line between the emotions love and hate. There are times in a person's life when you meet someone and you feel as if you would do anything to make them happy, because whatever feelings they show project onto you. Jason left Medea for Glauce, daughter of Creon, King of Corinth and Jason being the selfish, egotistical man he is could not care less about the way it would impact his soon to be ex-wife. Jason shows no remorse and almost seems to blame medea for reacting the way she does, he claims "What we poor males really need is a way of having babies on our own – no females, please. Then the world would be completely trouble free". Jason says this seeing very little fault in what he himself did to ruin their happiness. Even after everything Medea had done for him he continued to stay ungrateful he repeated to Medea that "Your cleverness played a part...your service did no harm" (62) making all she had done for him seem miniscule. Jason would not have been who he was in that time without the dutifulness of Medea, he seems to have very little regret and seems to brush off the things she has provided for
