As Kim Jong Un continues to test the capabilities of North Korea's nuclear arsenal, and the U.S. begins to test their defense systems, tension between North Korea and the U.S. continues to escalate. Kim Jong Un’s dictatorship in North Korea poses a constant threat to the U.S. as well as most of the world; North Korea has threatened to attack the U.S. or any other country that poses a threat. In response, the U.S. has tested the ability of defense weapons and the military bases stationed near North Korea have prepared for a possible attack. Consequently, the tension between the two countries continues to grow amidst constant fighting between both sides right down to the leaders of both countries. Since February of last year Kim Jong Un has fired 22 missiles, one of which was an ICBM(intercontinental ballistic missile). While Americans were celebrating their independence at home on July 4, Kim Jong Un launched North Korea’s largest missile ever(Berlinger). An ICBM travel’s over 5,500km, very capable of reaching the continental U.S. Also, Kim Jong Un continues to threaten the U.S., as he said North Korea would “retaliate against the U.S. with tremendous muscle”(Berlinger). Government does not know where all of their nuclear weapons are located so attacking could lead to a disaster. Whether the United States were to attack North Korea on the ground or the air, they cannot eliminate all of their missiles. Because the United States could not eliminate all of North Korea’s missiles, they would likely attack instantly if the U.S. tried to do anything. The past test sites for North Korea’s missiles have been spread out throughout the country and locating all of them is virtually impossible. For these reasons, attacking North Korea would promote a counter strike and lead to inevitable
